Owner description: This fashionable, upscale neighborhood is lined with cafes, boutiques and galleries and morphs into a street fair on weekends.

I loved walking around Recoleta and stopping at the little cafes that could be found on every block. Everyone I came across in the stores, restaurants, and museums were very friendly and helpful. I felt very safe walking around alone in this neighborhood at all hours and there is a lot to do on it's border with Palermo.

Recoleta is by far the most chic quartier in Buenos Aires.
The main spot is Alvear Ave, walk it all the way to the French Embassy. It feels like in Paris.

Plenty of tourists but interesting neughborhood and cemetery. Quite informative on the way wealthy Argentine view themselves in the world.

The Recoleta neighborhood offers wonderful sights and activities. Walking the tree lined streets, visiting the cemetary, catching mass, and visiting the various market stalls and shops could not have been more enjoyable and I am not a shopper.

From the Evita Peron Mausoleum, to the exquisite building of the French Embassy, Recoleta shows the grandiose Buenos Aires past. Very close to downtown, it's fancy (and expensive) restaurants are diverse in stiles and tastes. It's original arquitecture can still be seen in many buildings, some dating close to a century. During the weekends, the artists present their production at the plaza close to the cemetery. Surprising stuff could be found.
