I stayed here for a total of nine nights in mid-late April, 2004 and I was very pleased with my choice. This is a simple, small family-run hotel in Barrio Norte, bordering both Recoleta and Palermo, an excellent choice for those who are not the hostel-type but looking for an inexpensive place to stay in a very nice and safe neighborhood. Very good for women traveling solo, as I was. The hotel is very well-maintained, extremely clean and the furnishings are in excellent condition. A free-standing closet/armoire and large dresser gave plenty of space to store my stuff and all rooms feature a small dining table, refrigerator and color cable TV. Not sure if they have full air-conditioning, but they do have a central air system that kept my room comfortable on a couple of warm, muggy days. The lobby and breakfast area are homey and bright, and the room rate includes a standard Argentine continental breakfast of medialunas/toast, yoghurt, coffee/tea and juice. The hotel staff doesn't speak much English, but they are cordial.
The location of the hotel is excellent, a half block off Avenida Santa Fe with its many shops that have everything you need and a block from the Aguero subte (subway) station. Many restaurants and cafes are just a short stroll away, and a little more walking will bring you to the heart of Recoleta and Palermo. The area is also a safe place to walk around after dark. I was very happy here.
