“Good location, nice ambience”
Reviewed 31 March 2013

The hotel is located right in the centre and very convenient for sights and shopping in Microcentro and San Telmo. Its very unimpressive entrance hides the fact that its based around a very cozy courtyard, shielding you from the street noises. A very nice place to sit after a long day walking Buenos Aires. Breakfast is standard Argentine, i.e. very basic. Free computers available.

This hotel is an excellent value for its location. We enjoyed the staff and the shared enclosed court yard, which provided a refuge from the hustle and bustle of Buenos Aires. The staff was very attentive and a joy to be around making the hotel a very welcoming place. The price point for its location can’t be beat. It is an easy walk to several locations and has many very good cafés within a block or two of the hotel (we particularly enjoyed Café Goya). The rooms are clean and comfortable, but small, lack natural light and ventilation and are starkly furnished. In our opinion, the shared spaces in the court yard and small patio more than compensated for the small rooms. If you rate your hotel on thread counts and number of free toiletries this is not the hotel for you. However, if you want a clean, friendly hotel and want to preserve your budget for something besides lodging, this would be a very good selection.

We stayed in Gran Hotel Hispano a couple of days and enjoyed our stay there. Rooms are small and beds a bit too soft but location is great to visit Buenos Aires.
Breakfast is okay but you'd better try the Cafe Tortoni's breakfast next door (don't forget to book). Free wifi.

Room Tip: Avoid first floor, which is v noisy in the morning as they start to set up the breakfast at 7am.

Stayed in this hotel for one quick night. It has one great location. The hotel is very old and need to be refurbished. People from reception was kind of strange (I arrived very late in the room) and the hotel inside is like one tipical vila, I like it. The bathroom is terrible and the breakfast is ok. It has enormous potential but I would stay in somewhere else.

We lived at the hotel for 2 days when arrived in BA and returned for a day before our departure from Argentina. I liked it very much, its style and atmosphere of an old hotel, the location is excellent, the staff was very friendly, helpful and hospitable. We were checked out later and checked in earlier than the official time. Best wishes and thanks a lot to Karina!

Room Tip: I would prefer a room with a balcony facing the street.

stayed there last june for 2 days because of central location but that is all it offers. old and filthy.
even the water smelled bad.better pay a little bit more. and avenida de mayo at night is not at all a safe neighbourhood.of course no breakfast and of course high rip off rates for what in the us would not even fit into the category hostel. definitely a no go !!!

Room Tip: get a decent place ... not this one
