We stayed at Alpino Hotel between flights, was fairly close to Aeroparque Jorge Newberry, about 10 mins in taxi/traffic. Seemed like an OK area of the city, we weren't really there long enough to tell, but the hotel itself was great value, a bit dated but still very comfortable. For $80US we had a quiet room on 4th floor, with an opening window, a/c, 2 king single beds, a couch, big wardrobe, desk, and plenty of space for our luggage, probably one of the largest hotel rooms we stayed in! Can't comment on the food as we left very early in the morning for our flight.

This hotel was well located, but it is not worth the money they charged. We also stayed at El Conquistador which costs the same but was much nicer.

This hotel has not been updated in a long time. It is in need of some renovations. The elevator has to be opened manually, the bathroom looked like it was 40 years old etc... If they charged less, it would be an okay place to stay.

We booked this because it said online that it was close to the airport, Aeroparque, but it is not!

I went to Buenos Aires for a seminar and this hotel was recommended by the organizer of the event. It is located in Palermo (the regular one, not Palermo Soho or Palermo Hollywood, but nearby) the staff was attentive and friendly, the rooms were clean and the breakfast decent.

I read another reviews and yes, it is an average place, nothing fancy or stylish at all. If you're looking for an hotel boutique with cool people in the lobby, a beautiful garden, organic food or chocolates in your pillow, this is not your place. If your are looking for a decent and not expensive place to sleep and take a shower in a good and well located neighborhood where most hotels are kind of very expensive, it is a good choice.

This is a very friendly and well organised hotel in a very safe area of Palermo. Some very good restaurants nearby. The subte is about a 10 minute walk away. The rooms are very clean and comfortable although the fixtures and fittings are showing their age a bit (the 80s style pink bathroom took a bit of getting used to!). Good breakfast.

The Alpino Hotel definitely met expectations. The lobby, bar and dining area are very modern and breakfast fulfills with its croissants, cold cuts, cheeses, fresh fruits, coffee and juices. Though the room seemed a bit dated in style, it was very spacious. The room’s refrigerator has a stocked bar. Internet connectivity was great and the room was very spacious. A phone and high definition television was also at our disposal. The hotel staff was more than accommodating, allowing us to check in late and also to allow us to store our luggage until our late departure. The staff was even accommodating enough to allow us to enjoy a locally brewed Quilmes beer while we awaited our taxi…overall, the hotel and staff were quite agreeable.

I enjoyed my two-night stay at the Alpino in Palermo. My room was quiet and comfortable, the breakfast was good and the free WiFi worked fine. The neighborhood is pleasant with tree-lined streets and many shops and restaurants. I had an excellent meal at an Italian restaurant, Anetta, about four blocks away on Ugarteche and a good lunch at Canal, a nearby parilla at the corner of Salguero and Cervino. Several of the museums in Recoleta are within walking distance. I went to MALDA (Museo de Arte Latino Americano - mostly modern art) and the small, but interesting National Museum of Popular Art (textiles, silver, folk art). The beautiful Japanese Garden (which has an excellent restaurant) is not far away. Finally, the Alpino is a only short taxi-ride from Aeroparque Jorge Newbery and domestic flights.

Room Tip: A room at the back of the hotel (which mine was) probably is quieter than the front rooms, but the s...

I think the management has been reading tripadvisor comment, because some of the criticisms I read from past travelers seem to have been corrected. The staf were friendly and helpful and the free breakfast was a good selection of fruit, cereals, and pastries and the coffee was fine. A double bed for 2 persons was only $80, including the outrageous 21% Sales tax, and is located in a great place within the Palermo barrio. Also, I actually found a quiet place to sleep within Buenos Aires!! The rooms were nothing fancy, but had cold AC and hot showers, so no complaints on my part. I will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: I stayed on the 4th floor facing away from Calle Cabello and it was very quiet.
