“Quite ok”
Reviewed 2 January 2014

Having read so many good things about BA closed door restaurants, we decided to visit one of the most recommended ones. The difference to a normal restaurant was perhaps just the size, but I expected a more personal touch. Service was ok, but we have experienced friendlier staff in 'normal' restaurants, food was ok but nothing breath taking, and the wine included was rather a wine tasting (half a glass with each course). After all the enthusiastic comments on TA it was a bit disappointing.

“Great food, great experience”
Reviewed 3 December 2013

Was recommended to visit Paladar by a local BA friend and it was a great recommendation! Its a small restaurant in a residential area so its not easily found. Quick and short taxi ride from the city center. It was a set menu sent out every saturday for the week and the husband and wife duo pair with wines for each course which was 275 pesos per person.

The food was exceptional - squid ink risotto, soup.... even the bread basket was ama

“one of my favorite dining experiences in Buenos Aires, don't miss it”
Reviewed 8 July 2013

Paladar is charming with a capital C, for its creators offer you such a special evening that you have no option but to fall for it. You could say that Pablo and Ivana are a “match made in heaven”, since fate brought these two soul-mates together –they´re husband chef and wife sommelier. Their creation is this 16-seat restaurant that combines love for what they do, simplicity and their expertise and technical knowledge put at the service of the diner’s pleasure. Each of them contributes their exquisite touch to make sure that all the details work: impeccable service, candlelit atmosphere by the fireplace, crystal jugs and special glasses for each of the surprises coming from the carefully selected wineries, and the lovely musical selection. The 5-course menu, which is renewed every week, is conceived with amazing balance and each step is perfectly matched with a glass of high-quality wine. On this occasion, my favorite treat (in a succession where each dish outdid the previous one, even though such a feat seemed almost impossible) was a tomato and mascarpone cheese soup with tarragon, black olives and a focaccia-bread toast. I think it is not necessary to go into too much detail -you just have to let yourself experience wonderment and enjoy a unique banquet that will feast your senses. Suffice to say that this is an invitation to an evening you don´t want to miss, where excellence goes hand in hand with warmth. When they bid farewell to you at the door, you´ll take a grateful smile as a souvenir of an evening you will not easily forget.

“Great food, atmosphere and hosts”
Reviewed 7 July 2013

The food was amazing! Each course was delicious and paired perfectly with a local drink. The food was also gluten-free friendly. Pablo adapted each course to fit the dietary needs of my wife. Ivana and Pablo were great hosts and have turned their home into a great "puerta cerrada" restaurant. We were so impressed with the meal and atmosphere that we went back the following week for another meal.
