My wife and I stayed at this fantastic Hotel for 5 nights from 9 July 2014. The facilities were sensational and I would recommend everyone staying there find the time to enjoy sunrise at the heated indoor pool on the top floor. I have to commend all the staff, from the very attentive doorman, the reception desk, the restaurant staff and the staff who cleaned our room every day (and not just once a day). The staff at reception were able to organise us joining a small english speaking tour that provided a good overview of the key suburbs and also provided a list of recommended restaurants and Tango Shows.

The surprise to me was that their own restaurant was not included on the list. We had dinner there on our second last evening and the meal was absolutely sensational. A grilled selection of seafood, oysters from the daytime menu followed by the Lamb Patagon and a fish curry accompained by an enjoyable sauvignon blanc. I could not stop raving about the lamb dish to friends who were staying elsewhere, so hopefully they have been and experienced what I described to them.

The location was perfect for us and I have to say anyone who is looking for a special time in BA then you must book into this Hotel.

Ron (Canberra, Australia)

Room Tip: We had a premium room on a corner and were on the 10th floor.

We initially came here for a just quick break from the World Cup in Brasil but ended up re-extending our booking not once but 4 times!! I love pretty much everything about the hotel, especially the staff.

Coming from Brasil, the quality of hotel was always going to be a lot better, but first impressions count and no matter how good the hotel looks and feels, the staff can change that in an instant. Not the case here, with the door staff / concierge / front desk / restaurant staff & cleaning staff all being fantastic. The are well trained and pretty much all of them spoke very good conversational English, with nothing being too hard a request for them, especially front door and restaurant.

The hotel itself is modern with a great collection of art... the room is a very good size, with the bathroom and shower the stand out... excellent rain-shower water pressure / double sink / very large / heated flooring and good amenities.

We had the mother-in-law stay with us for majority and she stayed on a very comfortable sofa bed and apart from her snoring said the comfort was great. Our king bed was very nice, with the block out motorized blinds being very handy. The toilets have a super powerful flush but because of that you do get some noise from what must be next door when they extra flush or sometimes if people speak very loudly (children in this case)

We had breakfast everyday and found it great with a good selection of fruits / breads / bakery / cereals and some hot options. Nice juices and did not get sick of it over the time I was there and loved being greater by name from most staff and also them remembering what particular things we like to drink etc.

Ate at the restaurant at least 7 times for lunch or dinner and majority of times was fantastic. Monday (after Argentina lost the final!) when restaurant is closed for dinner the food at the bar which was normally an A+ was more like a C but that was the only time we had an issue with the standard of food.

Pool on the top floor is great and used the gym a couple of times, with a great morning sunrise over Buenos Aries... Should have gone more times, but are on holidays after all!!

Location for us was perfect and we booked each time through hotels.com as was cheaper than the hotel could do and if you booked for 2 or more days you got a meal voucher at the restaurant for 3 courses with matching wine!! The rate we got was around AUD$270 a night for the 3 people which was at least half the price of any other 5 star hotel in the city so will definitely be back and so happy with our choice.

Room Tip: 907 shower had great water pressure!

We stayed at the Alvear Art in January and February this year and it more than met our needs. Although the neighborhood is not the fanciest, we always felt safe during our frequent walks.
The staff was welcoming and always had good recommendations for places to eat or routes to get us where we wanted to go. The three rooms we had (we traveled around the country and kept coming back to Buenos Aires) were modern, immaculate and large by urban standards. Breakfast was included in our rate and the breakfast servers were attentive. Room service was prompt and polite. I would recommend this hotel to others.

I stayed at the Alvear Art Hotel for the first time in June. It was more than a pleasant experience. The hotel is well situated near the Plaza San Martin and near the shopping corridor on Calle Florida. Puerto Madero, Recoleta and San Telmo are all enjoyable walks from the hotel. The hotel itself is very modern, clean and well designed. I was here on business but would be equally as happy if I was visiting with my wife. The rooms are spacious and the washroom is very accommodating. The heated tiled floors are a wonderful extra. It was almost as good as my own Nespresso machine. Nothing like waking up to a fine espresso. I used the gym daily. It was fine although on the small side. You would not be comfortable is 6 people were trying to exercise at the same time. The rooftop pool is very nice and peaceful. Food in the restaurant was excellent and the bar offers fine choices for a single business diner. Lastly, the staff are very pleasant to deal with. The Alvear Art Hotel is now my new home in Buenos Aires.

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room. The washroom has a large window with a privacy shade that brings in lots of...

Alvear Art is the new baby brother of Alvear Palace Hotel, one of the most important and iconic hotels in Buenos Aires. That being said the expectations for this hotel were big and all I have to say is that they exceded every single one I had. This hotel is my new favorite in Buenos Aires.

PROs:
- Free WiFi
- Free Breakfast (on some rooms)
- Location, its on a perfect location for tourists, close to everything yet in a good area (secure)
- Service, on this Alvear is a SUPER STAR, they have an amazing service, every single staff member is well trained servide-oriented and
- There are free bikes to ride across the microcentro
- Bar, great drinks and ambiance
- Rooms are BIG and with Vegas-like amenities like automatic blackout curtains, heated floor in the bathroom and interactive TV.

CONs
- A little overpriced, but worth it
- The coffee machine in-room only gives you 2 nespresso cups for free (per stay!)

Overall this is the best hotel I have stayed in Buenos Aires so far, I will definitely come back.

Room Tip: High rooms have great views.

This is a fantastic new property. I was initially concerned about it's proximity to the microcenter (good for business but we were on holiday) but the Retiro section is residential, quiet and centrally located. Calle Florida and the neighborhoods of Casa Rosada, San Telmo and Recoleta are all within walking distance. The physical hotel is beautiful, not overtly large, not awkwardly small…but a perfect in between. The lobby was elegant, a pleasure to return to at the end of a long day of touring. We booked a standard room and it was well appointed, clean and sufficiently large for two people + 5-star housekeeping services. Not sure why they limit your in room nespresso allotment to two capsule for the entire stay, but breakfast was included which more than made up for it. Speaking of breakfast, the assortment and presentation was excellent as were the waiters who seemed to go out of their way to make the meal enjoyable. To top it all of, a great roof pool and functional gym. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel, especially given the fact that other 5-star properties in town are almost double the price.
