This is a great "hole-in-the-wall" kind of place with very tasty food. If you are an "estadounidense" ("American") with a hankering for home, El Banco Rojo makes a Philly cheese steak that is as close as you can get to the real thing. Even the orange goo that they put on it looks suspiciously like Cheez Whiz!

We stopped by in this little place for lunch and it was really good. Its mostly a takeaway place but there were a few seats inside to stay and eat.

The food was really tasty and it was really good value. We paid around 50 Soles for a big plate of taco's.

Some of the best food we ate in Buenos Aires

I love this place - its cheap, really delicious, and one of the few places that has hot sauce. While they have falafel and sometimes offer a lamb sandwich on pita bread this is not at all authentic Middle Eastern cuisine. Instead its more eclectic leaning towards mexican cuisine with delicious taco and sandwich specials. But whatever you order eat it fast as the bread tends to fall apart fast. There aren't any tables but as the name states, in addition to a few stools inside, there is a red bench outside, weather permitting.

In San Telmo, Buenos Aires, is this one of the very few places which is nearly always open, had good snacks, is not expensive. If you're looking for a place to stay hours: look further, this place has the worst chairs in whole Buenos Aires and it's crowded.

Went here twice in our three days at San Telmo, and if we were there longer, would have returned more to try everything on the menu! Spice lamb empanada, Asian chicken pita, Lamb pita, hummous, tacos... it was all absolutely delicious. Highly recommended. Closed Mondays. Very friendly staff.
