“Nice place for a stroll”

In a central Recoleta location, this is a nice square for a stroll or to just sit in the sun and see life going by. On weekends, there is a handicraft market, people having their picnic on the lawn and listening to live-bands play and sometimes you even catch some Tango performance. A good place to relax after a lot of sightseeing.

Feria de la plaza de francia is up until now my favourit market in Bs As, they have lots of handmade artscraft and jewelry. The jewelry is very neat not that expensive. In case you need to withdraw money, there are ATMs in the design shopping mall close by. On one side of the market there's the Hardrock Cafe and on the other side the cementary. You can also buys fruit cups, empanadas, alfajores and other food at the market.

If you are looking for good quality arts and crafts, whether for yourself or others, this is the place to go. The little tent/booths go on forever, on all the sidewalks running through and around the Plaza Francia. I didn't even get to all of them, and I was there for at least an hour. I would definitely allow two hours if you're serious about finding some good stuff. (Bring a tote bag!) I had to remain focused or I would have stopped at many more booths. I found the quality to be generally quite high, certainly more uniformly than at the Feria San Telmo (though I love that fair in a different way). I don't recall seeing any tourist kitsch. And the prices are quite reasonable. The vendors are friendly and helpful, there's food for sale (though you'll have to walk around and find a bench or sit on the ground), and everyone seems to be in a good mood. It's a nice way to spend some outdoor time, and there's plenty of lawn to relax on if you want to rest in the sun.

Pick a sunny day, light clothes and go walk. A safe and cosy family place. A very peculiar street market gives you that little different thing. Nevertheless, you'll be able to find ice-cream shops and nice cafes nearby. Overall, a very nice walk. Don't miss the cemetery and the Museum of art!

This Plaza, right across Recoleta Cemetary, hosts a daily Feria, with a lot of handicraft and jewelry for sale.

You will also find many street musicians and all kinds of public gatherings.

Still, it is a great place to sit down and enjoy the day with your friends or with a book.
