The Marbella is a very good value and is located near the downtown attractions of Buenos Aires. The furnished breakfasts are modest, but visitors can buy additional items in the small hotel restaurant where breakfasts are served. That restaurant, incidentally, is excellent value for other meals; the menu is limited but the food is good. The counter staff spoke English and were very friendly and helpful in giving directions and booking tours, Tango shows, and the like. Rooms on the courtyard side (not much of a view) are quieter, smaller, and have smaller bathrooms. Rooms on the street side are the opposite in all these respects. We preferred the street side rooms, but there was some street noise. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable. $40 US per night, with a 10% discount for paying in cash. A subte (subway) stop is about a block away. Instead of eating at the Espana Restaurant on the corner to the right as you exit (toward El Congreso) and go instead to Plaza Asturias on the corner to the left (toward Ave. de 9 julio) after you cross the first street (much better food, value, service, atmosphere--prices about the same).
