What can I say is bad about thi place. We recently spent 5 days at the hotel at the start of our honeymoon. This was one of 7 hotels that we stayed at during our visit and it has to rank as no1. We stayed I'm a superior deluxe on the 14th floor and the room was a very good size. It also had a splendid roof terrace, almost the same size as the room. But what really makes this hotel stand out, is the staffing and service. The rooms were cleaned every time we stepped foot out of the room. They made sure there were free fresh bottles of water each day and the staff were constantly available to assist with help for restauraunt bookings and guidance. They only two areas that I would count it down are as follows: no outdoor pool. Not a crime for a city hotel, but having one would top it off. Saying that the indoor pool in the gym area is beautiful and the facilities in the gym are second to none. And finally the room service food. I would give it a 7 out of 10. That may be personal taste, but I didn't think it was great. But otherwise, stay here if you can. You will not regret it

Room Tip: The higher the better. Room 1409 has a great terrace

The old building is beautiful. Located in refined, quiet part of town. Indoor pool is lovely but there isn't anywhere to sunbathe outside (disappointed teenage tanners in our family). Breakfast buffet is very nice. Outside terrace so pretty for drinks etc. A bit lacking in energy. We wished we'd stayed somewhere in Palmero for more atmosphere. The concierges were incredibly unhelpful.

Really enjoyed Polo Tours, Urban Biking, Recoletta Cemetry, Graffitimundo and fab meal at Tegui. BA is a beautiful city with relaxed and friendly people. If you're around on a Thursday don't miss seeing Las Madres - the mothers of citizens that went missing during the dictatorship protest by walking silently around the plaza in front of the President's Palace. Very moving.

Room Tip: Make sure that you're in the fabulous Palacio part of the building - modern side is fine but pre...

Four months after our trip, I still feel compelled to reflect on our stay at the Park Hyatt in Buenos Aires known as the Palacio Duhau . This is my second review, and I have no intention of achieving reviewer status. However, I need to say that we would unequivocally recommend the Park Hyatt. Simply an unforgettable experience. Its address is on the most elegant street in the city named Alvear Avenue that is in the most elegant area called the Recoleta. It is the collaboration of the International Park Hyatt with the owner of the Palacio Duhau . Built in 1934, it was a replica of a palace in Marais and has an interior that blends old world elegance with the purity of modern design: Baccarat crystal chandeliers, an unobtrusive Bufano sculpture in the library, a staircase that invites the perspective of infinite elegance when peering down, and world class art in an underground walkway leading to the modern tower of the hotel. We were invited on our first night by a staff member to a private reception in the palace with marble floors, chandeliers, and French décor; we sipped champagne and Argentinean wine with h’oerderves as two couples danced the tango before us. A most elegant experience. But what stood out to us even more were the staff and the service. It began when we were greeted warmly by a young attendant while innocently walking up the steps of the palace. We had no intention of being guests, but he took great pride in explaining the story and history of the palace and its rooms and artifacts while giving us a personal tour. When we decided to stay as guests, it seemed that every staff member knew of us, warmly greeted us on a personal basis, and discreetly inquired as how to be of further help. We remember charming conversations with Guillaume, the manager of food and beverages, as well as a waitress named Daniella who served us breakfast on the terrace. On our second visit to the old world bar replete with European panels from the Old World, the bartender named Miguel came out from behind the bar to welcome us back. I suppose that the best recommendation came from a couple that happened to sit across from us on the plane to Patagonia. They had also stayed at the Palace; they were confessed Four Season aficionados’, but they found their stay at the Palace Duhau to be exceptional, and they are now pursuing future stays at the International Park Hyatts. Enough said.

This is perhaps the best Hyatt in the world and my favorite hotel in Buenos Aires. The staff at this hotel is the elite of the hospitality industry. I've stayed at the Alvear Palace, Sofitel and Hilton Puerto Madera -- the Park Hyatt beats them all. Newly renovated palace - it's better to stay in the old palace than the new extension. Excellent room with modern amenities. The huge swimming pool is the best in Buenos Aires. Fabulous overall experience.

We stayed in a suite for 3 nights and it was gorgeous. The highlight of the hotel was the fantastic courtyard between the old palace side and the modern tower. We sat outside each day and enjoyed cocktails at the end of our tours. Breakfast each morning was lovely and the ding rooms are ever so pretty. The concierge gave us great advice as to restaurants. We never saw the indoor pool, but it is great that it has one. We wish we had seen a palace side room but they were booked, but the suite we had was one large room on the 17th floor, with a jacuzzi a large closet, double sinks,, free water, coffee/ tea maker, free apples, free mouth wash, slippers, robes, ice. Since it was a special occasion, a free bouquet of flowers was delivered to our room, rose petals sprinkeled, truffles and sparkling wine left as well as candles. We had a lovely view of the garden and the room was quiet. So why not a full 5 star?

There were a few missteps. There was a rain storm and the window leaked and the room flooded. We didn't get a chance to eat the truffles and they were thrown out the next morning. If one person wanted to go to sleep all the lights had to be turned off in the living room as the lightens were all on one switch. We wanted to go on a tour and the broker's Internet site didn't work, but you could book directly with the venue and they didn't try and never notified me that they couldn't get tickets on the brokers site. I had to do it myself and ask them to print it out. There was no usual greeting that one usually gets in a five star hotel, especially after 4 days. Nothing here is terrible, but these touches are evident in other hotels of this calibre. I would stay here again. It had a great location near lots of restaurants and shopping. I think I preferred it to Puerto Madera, but I am glad I stayed at the Hilton. I preferred the Hyatt.

Room Tip: Face the courtyard
