Palacio Duhau - Park Hyatt Buenos Aires
Ranked #15 of 440 Hotels in Buenos Aires
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 29 July 2010

My wife and I stayed at the Palacio Duhau during a visit to Buenos Aires. The property is simply magnificent. It is a former palace that has been converted into a chic hotel, and each room has the look/feel you would expect of a palace.

We arrived into Buenos Aires early in the morning (9AM) and unfortunately our room was not ready. Needless to say, the staff escorted us to their restaurant and treated us to breakfast while we waited. From there, the experience was nothing but spectacular.
The rooms are luxurious and impeccable, and the service was superb.

In all, we were completely pleased with our stay at the Park Hyatt Buenos Aires and would recommend it to anyone looking for a true taste of luxury in Argentina!

We arrived late on a Thursday evening and decided to have dinner at the hotel on the terrace. A fantastic jazz trio was playing as the sunset. The meal was prefect, the ambiance was unforgettable. A great hotel in a great location.

Spent two nights here prior to a cruise to Patagonia. Arrived early after endless flights from Los Angeles only to discover that the room wasn't ready, despite having noted early arrival on our reservation. However, the staff at the front desk could not have been more accommodating or helpful - they apologized profusely and escorted us into the breakfast room where we were treated to delicious cappuccinos and madelines. A very civilized and soothing room in the original part of the hotel with a glorious view of the gardens. After a slightly longer than anticpated wait, we were shown to our lovely room in the new tower. The room was perfect - and especially appreciated the electrically controlled black out curtain that allowed us to catch a brief snooze. The room was perfect - hard wood floors, wood panelled walls, expansive windows, clean lines, uncluttered - and a spectacular bathroom.
That evening, when we went to bed, there was noise of construction from above. We called the front desk to inquire and were told there was some sort of plumbing problem upstairs in the room above us they were trying to fix. They promised it would stop shortly and it did. The next day, there was a knock on the door and a staff memeber was there to present us with a small gift box of delightful cookies - all done up in a bow - with a note of apology from one of managers for the noise the previous night.
I can't say enough about the high calibre of the staff here - courteous, cordial and caring. I made the mistake of leaving my ipod in the room on departure for the cruise. Can I blame it on jet lag? I sent an email from the ship a day later asking if they by any chance had found it - I got a reply that they had. As I was heading back to BA in two weeks, it was easily retrieved. How often does something like that happen? I would stay here again in a heartbeat .

It’s very difficult to find fault with this hotel. From the moment we stepped out of the taxi until sadly we had to leave Buenos Aires, we had a 5 star experience from start to finish.
The hotel itself is an extremely impressive building from the outside with staff a plenty waiting to greet you on arrival. Check in was very prompt however we did feel that a number of the check in staff had an air about them almost to a point that they looked down on us. This treatment angered us, however, the rest of the staff were so pleasant that we forgot about it quite quickly.
The rooms are modern, stylish and very comfortable. The bathroom area was divided into 3 sections – shower, toilet and bidet, and bath and wash hand basins – and was also stocked with an ample amount of towels and toiletries. For the first time in many years I looked forward to getting up in the morning as the breakfast was to die for! Guests can chose from a very extensive buffet along with the option of ordering a hot breakfast, it was truly divine!
As I mentioned above, the staff (with the exception of a few!) are incredibly friendly yet professional, no matter what the request nothing was a problem.
Overall, we had an incredible stay and I would highly recommend this hotel. We hope to return to Buenos Aires sooner rather than later and, when we do, we will definitely be returning to the Park Hyatt.

The Park Hyatt is located in one of the most desirables areas of all of Buenos Aries and the grounds are just like what you would expect from a palace. Great places to shop and walk nearby and extremely safe area.

This is a wonderful hotel. Situated in the heart of Recoleta, probably the most charming neighborhood in Buenos Aires, you'll have easy access to anywhere in the city by foot or on taxi.

I've stayed in the new building. It was always clean and silent most of the time. Great bed, shower and room. The garden is nice and full of tables and chairs for you to seat down and relax while drinking or eating something. Staff was wonderful and the service was impeccable.

Highly recommended.
