“An impressive and eye-catching show with great food to follow!”
Reviewed 16 February 2012

My friends and I were looking for something to do one night in February having exhausted the majority of the Porteno nightlife spots and having been to a tango show, we wanted to do something a bit different. We came across Opera Pampa and decided to give it a go.

Upon arrival the beautiful arena buildings and large Argentine flag create the impressive setting of the show. We were directed towards the pre-show reception which was decorated with both contemporary and authentic gaucho design features. The reception offered free wine, beer and soft drinks as well as empanadas. The 45mins-1hr show began and we were immediately impressed by the professionalism of the show, the show's lighting, and the incredible gaucho horse skills.

After this enjoyable show we went back to the reception area for dinner and traditional gaucho asado (BBQ). The asado was extremely good quality, the wine, beer and soft drinks continued to flow and the staff were very friendly and attentive. We booked our tickets with an agency (BsAs4u.com) that I had used in the past.

Overall it was an extremely enjoyable evening and experience and I would highly recommend it if you are looking for something a bit different from the usual Porteno nightlife.

“Nice show”

Good show if you're interested on gaucho's lifestyle and horse riding. You can see here typical argentine folklore.

“Enjoyable if you like horses and want to experience AR barbecue (asado)”
Reviewed 1 March 2010

Booked online with Viator; $178 US for 2 people included round trip from hotel, wine and empanada appetizers in a large covered building where the dinner is also held, show in spanish, dinner with big variety of meats, good wine and desert. They offered unlimited soda, water and wine at the cocktail party and with the dinner. The bleachers for the show are right outside of the building and are covered. The arena is near the edge of town. Servers brought the dishes to each table to offer the selection. Large tables but they gave you a table for your party be it 2 or 4 etc. You must call and reconfirm your reservation the day before and bring the voucher you printed as your receipt to enter. Their website showed the calendar of performances and was easy to book. Story and songs follow history of the country and are in Spanish, I don't speak Spanish but can follow along if you have a basic knowledge of the history of the country from the Spanish arrival forward thru independence.

“A great Night Out”
Reviewed 18 August 2008

This is a outdoor show depicting the history of Argentina. It features singing, dancing, horse back riding and general spectacle. Reading the provided translation is helpful, but for American travelers, the story is very similar to the history of the Old West.
The evening begins with empanadas and drinks and an opportunity to shop in the craft stores. Following the reception you go outside to be seated in the grandstand (no reserved seats). If it is cold you will be given ponchos and there are heaters. After the show, you return inside for an asada (barbecue) dinner. Dinner begins with a trip to the salad bar. After that side dishes and various meats are brought to the table. The food was very tasty and plentiful.
I had a great time. The only thing I would reccommend is to NOT use their transfers. The pre-show driver was 30 minutes late. After the show, the driver didn't know where the hotels were. He left mine for last and was just driving around in circles until I directed him where to go. (Fortunately I speak Spanish.) A taxi would be easier.
I highly reccommend this as a fun night out for all ages.
