Just back. Can't say enough about the helpful staff and the location. 10 min from trendy parts of palermo and 15 min walk in either direction to 2 different subway lines. IDEAL.Scalabrini ortiz on D line to north, Medrano on B line to the south.Loved the cafe bar in the morning and the security system in place.Front door is always locked and never left unmanned.Perfect stay.THX!

Room- The rooms are NOTHING like they look in the pictures. They had dirty cement floors and I felt like we were practically outside. The beds and linens were hard and uncomfortable. Furthermore, the "white" towels in the room were so dirty they were grey.

Staff- the staff was bizarrely rude. I'm not sure if it was just to us or if this is how they are towards everyone. We stayed for 3 nights and were very low key in terms of what we needed from the hotel-we didn't need anything except to check in/out, order a coffee and ask for a cab. I travel a lot and think this is very reasonable. Every time we saw or talked to a staff member, it seemed like we were a bother to them. It was strange.

Neighborhood- The block that this "hotel" was located on was very strange. I was in Buenos Aires for 6 weeks and this was one of the very few streets that I didn't feel comfortable walking on. It is a 10 minute walk to a nicer part of Palermo but I would not stay in this particular area again and I would not recommend it.

Overall- I do not know how this hotel has received any good reviews. It makes me feel like I was staying someplace else. The space has so much potential. If it looked like it did in the photos, then it would be wonderful but it is NOTHING like it is in the pictures. The only thing it has going for it is the price but I still wouldn't recommend the Hotel Costa Rica

Atentamente.

The Hotel Costa Rica is a lovely hotel in the fashionable but relaxed area of Palermo. There is a huge selection of bars and restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk and the subway is a 10-15 minute walk.

The communal areas are stylishly decorated, comfortable and light and my only regret is that we didn't have more down time to enjoy the roof terrace! The beds and bedding are good quality and we slept well during our three nights there.

The best thing about the hotel is the staff who are very welcoming and were happy to organise taxis to the airport, give advice on places to go and even let us print off our boarding passes.

Hotel Costa Rica is located in the super trendy and lovely-to-wander-thru neighborhood of Palermo in BA, a short walk to the boutiques, restaurants, and bars of Palermo but also a short walk to the Subte, easily connecting you with other parts of BA as well. There is a coffee bar / lounge in the hotel. The rooms were efficient but clean and a very good value for the money spent. My one critique of this establishment is that the sound carries clearly throughout - or maybe this was just our room. This did not impact us negatively, but I could see this being a deterrent for some travelers. We would definitely recommend this hotel to other travelers going to BA.

We stayed in this hotel 4 nights. It’s a great hotel, with a pleasant and helpful staff. The hotel is cosy decorated and is situated in one of Buenos Aires most popular neighborhoods, Palermo. It has an very nice courtyard garden. Although the hotel has spacious rooms, our rooms were very small. When we wanted to open our bags, we had to place them on the bed….. The bathroom was even smaller; approximately less than 1,5 sq mtr! But don’t hesitate to go to this hotel, only ask for a bigger room!

We stayed here 2 nights.
The room was a bit small, but for BA standards good size. The room & overall hotel were very clean. There is a lovely downstairs patio area were you can have a drink. Breakfast is served here too... This uou pay extra & consists of a coffee, 2 media lunas & an OJ. Not much but honestly what more does one need in the morning...& its fresh.
On top there is a roof terrace with lounge area. Very nice. Although i would not recommend staying on this floor as the rooms look very low & right beneath the roof.
The staff is extremely friendly & helpful.
I would recommend this hotel.

I loved this place. I got a standard room with bathroom for a very reasonable price. The room was clean and nicely decorated, making it feel cozy and welcoming. The staff were amazing - spoke great English and were always willing to help with giving directions, making suggestions and offering assistance booking taxis. There is a cute little bar and several common areas on the ground floor. The location is also excellent - about a 7 minute walk from a plaza with shoos, restaurants and a park where an impromptu drum circle forms on the weekends. A few minor suggestions to the hotel - since the floors are concrete it would be really nice if you provided very simple slippers for hotel guests to use in the rooms. Also, it would be nice if there was a small shelf built in on the bathroom wall by the shower, so that there was a place to put soap bars. Otherwise, it was a lovely place that I recommend highly!!

Room Tip: Note that the wifi is mainly in the lobby, so rooms towards the back or on higher floors may not get...
