Our travel agent booked this hotel for us and said it was in a good location, which in proximity is true, but the area didn't feel great. Keep in mind though that most streets in town are full of graffiti and look dangerous anyway. The room was nice, service excellent from reception staff. Our room was very noisy though, mechanical noise day and night which was unpleasant. I'm not unhappy but it could be better.

First, the location is NOT San Telmo, as the hotel states and is repeated here. It is Monserrat and in our opinion, is not ready for prime time. We are accustomed to urban neighborhoods in New York and San Francisco, but this one was uncomfortable for us. The homeless "camp" with blue tarps and discarded office furniture one block over contributed to that, but worse were the 2 guys sitting on the stoop with 5 bottles of alcohol. The graffiti-covered buildings and general shabby appearance of that part of the city was unappealing in a city with so many other lovely choices.

As mentioned before, there was basically no wi-fi. The walls are dinged and paint chipped off. We had ants on our counter. There is no towel bar. We were on the 2nd floor and the street noise was loud. If you are used to 4 or 5 star hotels, this one will seem wholly inadequate. If you are accustomed to a hostel, it will be luxurious. The staff for the most part, will not seem warm and welcoming no matter how you find the hotel.

This hotel is very well located, funky and spacious. A chic & modern setting in the rooms, while still preserving the old elements with the lifts, stairwells and entrance. 5 minute walk to Plaza de Mayo and next door to Defensa Street for the Sunday San Telmo market. Continental breakfast is very yummy and in a great setting on the roof of the hotel, bit choice is rather limited (gets a bit boring when you stay 5 days). Strongly recommended.

Had the pleasure of staying here in 2009 and had a wonderful experience. This time around the building felt tired, the room whilst being interesting and stylish was showing the signs of aging. The wi-fi was terrible (and I was on the 1st floor close to reception). There was plenty of noise from neighbouring rooms until the very small hours.

Enjoyed the breakfast from the wonderful rooftop area. Very beautiful views and one of the hotels real charms.

Dined in Aldos Restaurant under the hotel, fantastic! Great food and wine and ambience. Probably my favourite restaurant in BA!

Room Tip: The higher floors are best.

Set in an old building the lifts, lobby and reception area is very unique. The rooms are clean and furnished comfortably. The receptionist that we dealt with was not very accommodating. The Wi - Fi signal was very weak in our rooms.

Being our first time in buenos aires, we had no idea what area was good or bad so we just followed reviews and we didn't go wrong. After a 16 hour trip from Los Angeles ca. We were exhausted. The driver that the hotel arranged, met us at the baggage claim. Helped us with our bags and delivered us to the Moreno Hotel. The entrance to the hotel has the original beautiful green tile that was the entrance to the factory build that was there for many years before the hotel. The lobby is on the second floor. We arrived at 9 am and figured we would have to wait until 3to check in. We spoke to the friendly, English speaking clerk. He said check in time is 3. It if we would consider a loft room instead of.regular one that we booked, he would let us check in then at no extra charge. What a break! The suite was huge...20 foot ceilings, very comfortable king size bed with yummy sheets and comforter with a duvet cover. The decorations were very hip and modern. Great shore and bidet. On Sunday there was a street fair/flea market a block away. Wifi in the room and a free computer to use in the lobby. Breakfast included on the beautiful roof top breakfast room with a lovely terrace with outdoor fireplace. All I can say is that this hotel is fabulous and you shouldn't hesitate booking it. It is equivalent to a us 4star hotel. Thanks Moreno hotel for our wonderful stay in Buenos Aires

Room Tip: I'm sure any room you get will be lovely.

Moreno Hotel is a mix of perfection and defects. Very good locarion and a beautiful building, with pottery on wall and a nice terrace for breakfast and leisure. It's noisy, just around its corner there is a popular club, where people stay inside and outside with high volume music and sometime screaming. My room was at second floor and cars in Moreno street don't save me from noise. The room was huge and beautiful, as well as the bath, but a stink come from the drainage. Staff is friendly, even they weren't able to reserve a taxi for me on dec 25th. Breakfast good on roof top. During my four nights staying on december 2012, I place my documents and money in the safe. I did forget I left some 'emergency' notes in my baggage, that anyway was locked. Someone broke my suitcase locker and steal my money, during the day when I was roaming in the city. All that was in the safe was still there. It was only 50 € but none want his baggage be violate in a 4 star hotel. I report to reception, but hotel manager didn't contact me, at least for regrets, even if they have my email. So a pleasent stay, but noise and theft.
