“Feels like home!”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

If there is one place you want to be staying while visiting Buenos Aires, it's this hostel. The house is cool, nicely decorated, and every little thing is thought for the traveler to feel at ease. Beds are comfortable, internet works perfectly, the common areas are spacious and the breakfast is always gladly served! :) Location is great, in a quiet area with restaurants and bars around!
You dont want to miss it! I would definitely come back!
The owners are super nice and helpful and will do whatever is necessary to help you.
Thanks German & Suzanna!

Pros:
-Good location: safe, lively neighbourhood, many bars and restaurants around. Hostel is on a quiet road, windows open to property's patio
- Strong wi-fi,although signal mainly confined to common area
- Good mattresses
- Colourful, tasteful decoration
- Lockers in the rooms, smaller in the 7 beds female dorm than in the 4 beds male dorm
- Breakfast included,tea/coffee, bread, jam/butter/dulce de leche
-DVDs and TV in common area, you can plug in your laptop to watch movies
-Owner and reception staff are very friendly and helpful, they make one feel at home.
-Kitchen clean and well equipped, large fridge to store food
- Nice vibe, easy to start a conversation with other travellers

Cons:
- A bit on the pricey side for a hostel (20USD per pers per night) but I guess that's what you have to pay for being in a trendy area of Buenos Aires
- No towels included, available for an extra charge (20 ARS)
- Rooms are a little cramped, especially the 4 bed dorm
- We booked 2 beds in the same dorm via booking.com. Upon arrival, only 1 bed had been booked. Luckily there was another one available, although in another dorm. The owner explained us that booking.com sent the wrong details and they have had problems with inaccurate information been sent to them in the past. Making reservations directly with the hostel or double checking after using booking.com and the sort is therefore strongly recommended.

Everyone was really nice and I got pretty close to the people that worked there even though I only stay for less than a week. The owner made an Argentina style barbecue on the last night that I was there and it was amazing. Honestly everyone had always been telling me about how good the food was in buenos Aries, especially the meat. I went to 4 different restaurants that were suppose to be amazing but they were whatever. Like I was underwhelmed by the food in buenos Aries, which is weird and I bit upsetting because I was really looking forward to eating great every day. Anyways, the barbecue at the hostel was def the best that I had in buenos Aries. Also everyone's really chill, the wifi works well, and it was a very inviting homely feel. I kinda like the party hostel environment too but it was kinda relaxing to just chill and talk with people every night. Also it's right in Palermo which is where a lot if food and bars and clubs are so that's good. I had fun, it was good for sure.

I arrived at Meridiano only two weeks after it opened planning to stay only a few day and stayed for a week. This place made Buenos Aires feel like home. German and Susanna were so lovely and the house is beautiful and comfortable. I love this neighborhood as well, being from Boston I love to walk and the streets around Meridiano are filled with good restaurants and shops. I had one of the best meals I've ever had across the street at Nacionale, and another amazing meal on the corner at the vegetarian restaurant (the name escapes me). And the buildings are beautiful - sort of like Spain meets Brooklyn. In any case I will be back again.

Room Tip: They were still very new when I arrived but I stayed on the top floor in the women's dorm room.

I spent my first few days of my South America trip in Meridiano and I've very glad that I did. German and Suzanna are awesome hosts and friends! The hostel is really like a home and makes you feel welcomed to stay and just hang around. Also they were very helpful when I was in need because of theft - I am very grateful for everything in this hostel. Great memory here.
