“Cosy Hotel”
Reviewed 5 January 2014

We stayed at Urban Suites Recoleta Boutique Hotel on 25 December 2013. It was Christmas Holiday so there was no construction work went on next door. The hotel room was big and clean. The breakfast was sufficient. Our room was on the sixth floor facing the Recoleta Cemetery. From this hotel we could able to walk to the Botanical Garden, Zoo, the Japanese Garden and the Paseo El Rosedal. But they were all closed on Christmas Day except the Recoleta Cemetery. The Recoleta Mall and most of the shops were closed. Although the Paseo El Rosedal was closed, we could still see from outside that Paseo El Rosedal grew many roses. There was a park and a pond. Many geese were swimming. People were feeding the geese. Many families were sitting around the park chatting and children were playing games and cycling. Through our experience we would like to advise those who wanted to visit Argentina, please exchange just sufficient Argentina Peso for use because we could not exchange the balance of our Argentina Peso for USD from the bank at the EZE airport during our departure. They exchanged money when you arrived but they did not allow to exchange the whatever balance of Argentina Peso you had to USD.

Room Tip: room facing Recoleta cemetery

Fantastic location in front of Recoleta cemetery with stunning views, especially from the top floor gym/balcony. Nice neighbourhood. Wonderful staff. Ok breakfast. Rooms were very nice and the prices were good. If you can pay upon arrival in cash and change according to the black market rate "dolares blue" (which now is ca 9.5 pesos to 1 USD compared to the official rates of 6.5) it will be even cheaper. Best place to change money is almost anywhere on Calle Florida (not nearby...). Or pay the first night and subsequent nights in cash. Oh, the jacuzzi was superdirty. Should have been cleaned. Brings down the overall rating.

Room Tip: the higher up & facing the cemetery, the better

We the location is fantastic. Reading how other hotels in less beautiful areas get 5 stars, I cannot think of giving Urban Recoleta anything less than the best. The rooms are clean, spacious and well kept. The staff is super friendly, helpful and ready to answer any questions you may have. And what to say about the location. Nested in the beautiful Recoleta district of Buenos Aires, it offers safe walking to shopping, restaurants, site seeing, etc. Pictures from other reviewers are a true indication of how good the hotel feels and looks. Highly recommend this hotel to your visit to Buenos Aires.

This hotel has a great location right in front of the Recoleta Cemetary. It's very easy to walk to many of the attractions in Recoleta and very accessible to other parts of the city. There is a mall nearby and many restaurants and stores that you shouldn't have to walk far to find what you need. The rooms are clean, well appointed and spacious and the view of the cemetery is beautiful. Breakfast was also above average compared to other hotels in Argentina. The only downside was the construction noise from the neighboring building in the daytime. Don't expect you'll be able to sleep in. Additionally, there's a bar next door and as most bars on weekends in Buenos Aires, they don't stop playing music until 6am. Other than the noise, it's a very nice place to stay.

Room Tip: Check to see if construction is still ongoing.

This small hotel is directly across from the famous Recoleta cemetery. The views are magnificent. The hotel is clean and well appointed. There is good quality breakfast in the basement. The staff is young and enthusiastic. They speak good English, and they are helpful. The location is excellent for this part of town.

Room Tip: Be sure to ask for a room overlooking the cemetery.

Like some of the other reviewers, I was a bit apprehensive when the taxi stopped at the front of the hotel. Seemed to be a bit out of place amongst all of the restaurants on the street. However, I was immediately relieved once I entered the doors. It is small but the staff were amazing, room was small but roomy with a great view of the cemetery. In fact, you can't beat it as its just across the street. Location is great, lots of restaurants right outside your door. The only issue I had was the lack of knowledge on construction occurring which was a lot of hammering. So check to ensure its complete before reserving a room. Otherwise, its great and would recommend it.

As you look at the hotel from the outside you immediately think it was a bad option... It seems more like a fancy Hostel than a nice and comfortable hotel it really is. The Urban Suites Hotel is located at the very heart of one of the most pleasant and fun neighborhoods in Buenos Aires: The Recoleta.

Although one might find scary staying in front of a cemitery, the surroundings are so nice you don´t even notice the cemitery is there.

Its spacious rooms, gathers working space/dining table, microwave, coffeemaker a very comfortable sofa and a roomy bed and the balcony is a plus... At the 10th floor, there is a small jacuzzy, sauna and a small workout area all sharing Buenos Aires sky view for its belvedere. Breakfast was OK nothing fancy but serving everything you could possibly want.

Very much recommended
