We booked property (white house featured in this property's profile) months in advance as we were renting for a month over a peak period. We were not required to place a deposit to secure the booking as per booking agreement. Our booking was confirmed.
Suddenly after a month or two, the host sends us an email demanding we pay a deposit within 24 hrs or he would cancel the booking. As we were not required to pay a deposit in advance, we did not do so and we were in the process of following up with the third party booking site when Javier abruptly cancels our booking (the third party booking site acknowledged our booking shouldn't have been cancelled as we were not required to pay a deposit).
Javier then immediately re-lists the property for approximately 3 TIMES our original booking! Totally inconveniencing us, as by that time, properties for the peak period were almost all gone and especially for the property size we needed.
The whole point of booking ahead is to secure a good price and not to be left high and dry at the last minute and be extorted for exorbitant prices. Do a search on this host... Javier has a track record for cancelling on customers unexpectedly.
Be aware that the white house pictured for Casa Kennedy's profile was the picture of the property we had booked last year, but it was called "Casa Las Lomas Golf" and Casa Kennedy was a brown coloured property. Make sure you check what property you are actually getting as other reviewers seem to have been misled by this.
In our experience, the host is extremely unreliable and not to be trusted despite booking agreemenst in place.
