In a recent trip to Mar del Plata I had the opportunity to visit the Museo del Mar on Colon. A bit of a uphill hike from the main plaza to the museum. The museum has a website [--------------]. The entrance fee was very reasonable. The museum has an aquarium section that displays many of the native argentine fish. One floor but nicely displayed. A few small sharks and rays steal the show. There are a couple of floors of shells on display. Beautiful specimens from around the world. There is an art gallery. I suspect they rotate the artist that appears there. The paintings I saw were quite good. There is a small coffee shop within the museum. The top floor has a kids playground and nice view of the surrounding area. I would allow a couple of hours especially if you are into the shells. Good place to kill a rainy few hours in Mar del. They have a very tiny gift shop with only a few choices. Again a quick stop with kids and adults will surprisingly love the shells.
