The geology is stunning. The variation in the colors makes this very beautiful and stark in its own way! There are a couple of places to pull over. The road is fairly new, so not hard to drive. Enjoy the beauty if this southwest drive!

A trip to this spectacular series of cliffs in northern AZ should be timed carefully for max enjoyment, and that depends on the sun which really brings the stones to life. Our personal preference is the east bound trip in mid to late afternoon. You catch the first sight of the Vermillion Cliffs high on the opposite plateau, and then you enjoy them all across the plain.

Vermillion Cliffs is an out of the place that most people going to the North Rim barely see. This a a place worth spending some quality time. Very beautiful and relaxing.

Beautiful majestic cliffs along one side of the road for miles and miles. In places you can see how the cliff has eroded and fallen into a landslide with high house- size boulders that came down to the road. Mother earth and nature at work. Amazing

Drove through it twice. There are viewing points along the road. The colours change depending on the light. What an amazing sight.
