“VERY GOOD .....but...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 January 2012

We reserved two bungalows for the year-end weekend. We arrived with our own boat, therefore cannot comment on the private transfer service included in the package. The cabins are very comfortable, the park is lovely, the four meals (lunch-dinner-breakfast and lunch) were mostly very good, the massages were great. We did not use the pool outside, as it did not look very clean. The inside pool was OK for us, although some guests complained that the water was not warm enough -outside we had 31°C! TPersonnel was very forthcoming in the spa, in the restaurant, everywhere.

So why do I say, very good ... but? Well, maintenace is lacking here and there. For example: shower heads loose and clogged with lime scale. Some planks on the wooden passageways are coming loose. Deck-chairs dirty. At night not all the lights on the passegeways are on -not working?.

Although we were told about the 11am check-out, we were able to keep the cabins until departure as no other guests were arriving that Sunday.

The bottom line: beautiful resort with uneven service.

As a resort, the Delta Eco Spa is quite young, perhaps a year old. The main building, where we stayed, is beautiful, in a simple way -- everything is wood, very clean, comfortable, and modern. We had one superior room and one standard room. The standard room was on the small side, while the superior room had a very large bathroom with jacuzzi tub, separate shower room, and a large deck. Sitting out on the deck was lovely.

All meals are included. The cuisine makes use of fresh produce and is creative, though I have the feeling that some of the entrees were premade: jamon crudo-wrapped stuffed breast of chicken appeared at a number of meals. The food varied from completely delicious to just OK. Similarly, the food service varied: sometimes very attentive, but, on one day, the staff had not even begun to set up at the time the food was to be served.

The staff in general is young, friendly, extremely nice, and eager to please. The resort gave me a good feeling because the staff is so nice. Some speak English but most do not. If you speak no Spanish, you may find it a little challenging to stay here.

The grounds are beautifully landscaped, and the feeling is one of staying in a lovely garden. If you need constant activities, however, this may not be the place for you. While there are swimming pools and spa facilities, as well as kayaks, the island is not large -- one can probably walk its perimeter in 40 minutes.

I had a lovely stay here, but I will say that, at a cost of over $400 US per night, for each of two rooms, I did not feel I received the level of service I expected for a cost that I consider to be at the high end. Perhaps, in Argentina, spending $800 per night does not generally bring one special treatment. I was surprised that, at the end of our stay, we were sent back to Tigre on the public boat; I had assumed that we would be given a private transfer.

Nonetheless, this is a special and beautiful property, and I had a most enjoyable and restful stay. As nice as it was, I'm not sure I would spend this amount of money on it a second time.

Room Tip: Get a superior room.

Beautiful setting and top of the class service. An new and original alternative for those who love the river and the remarkable Delta environment.
A romantic place with an exquisite menu, ideal for a getaway from the city noise and fuss.
No children allowed.

I would definetly come back, though this time in winter!

I was there for the day, the massage was ok but the rest is really a loss of money.
Only one shower available within the SPA, so you get out from the sauna and have to wait in a line.
I had a massage, which was ok then went to the hairdress (paying 80+80 argentinian pesos so 40 dollars for only one brushing) and the lady was the same than the massage: the delta eco spa does not have professional hairdresser so avoid this service. My little brother could have done a better job on my hairs. Horrible broshing.
At the end of the day we took the "navette" service to return at the Tigre station. During the trip on the small boat the driver couldn't manage the boat, he was unable to navigate, and when we encountered a wave he accelerated instead of slowing down and the mirrors within the boats smashed on my friend's body. The driver didn't even apologize.... I hope you won't decide to select this hotel

After a great day of kayaking (check out el dorado kayak) we stayed here one night to relax and get away from it all. Overall, we had a great time - the room was nice, the pool was awesome and the setting was lovely. You will enjoy it if your expectations are about enjoying the delta and not about comparing it to american spas like canyon ranch. The property was designed in line with the landscape but it was a bit big and sterile in some regards. I kind of question the level of "eco-ness" - our room was replete with a bidet and flat screen tv - not to mention we saw some construction debris on the river bank. The spa part was relaxing but our massages were fairly surface-y not deep tissue. I think a day or 2 at the most here would suffice as it is a mostly "relax by the pool" kind of place. Definitely couple it with a kayak or river trip to get a picture of the amazing tigre delta.

My girlfriend I found the Delta Eco Spa here on TripAdvisor, after reading the reviews we decided that for a relaxing weekend in the delta this would be the ideal place, and we were right.

To reach the spa you get picked up in Tigre and travel by boat to the spa, this is a wonderful trip through the nature. By arrival we were welcomed by a very friendly staff which always seems to be ready to help you with about anything. The spa is isolated and offered us a welcome escape from our busy lives in Buenos Aires and a real touch with nature. We had a room in the main complex which was clean and big enough for us, the bed was just perfect. There are many possibilities in the spa like a sauna, steam room, pool, treatments etc. in addition the place is great to walk around or take a (free) kayak to boat around a bit.

The food was excellent and more than enough, but is only served at `fixed´ times. In between it is difficult to get a snack so it is ideal to get a healthy eating pattern.
Overall it is a great place to go with a friendly staff, excellent facilities and great food.

Okay we did not really expect anything else for the price, but it was good value for our money.

We visited Buenos Aires in December and a friend had recommended that we include in our vacation a few days in an area called El Tigre, about 20 minutes from Buenos Aires, at a hotel called Delta Eco Spa.
To get to the hotel you need to go to the Tigre station and they take you by boat to the hotel; a beautiful trip through the Delta river.
The hotel is spectacular, a true escape, to us was a real touch with nature, we stayed for 4 days, they included our meals and treatments at the spa,
our room was a Cabin nicely decorated. Everyone at the hotel is extremely friendly,
warm, they make you feel like at home, the food, the treatments all amazing.
We enjoyed it so much that we are planning to go back again with some friends.
