Arriving in Tigre we had an idea that we would like a boat trip, but didn't know where to go. Luckily we met Fer, who was talking to another couple, who couldn't afford the boat trip by themselves. Quickly we found out, that we could share a boat no matter that we didn't speak the same language, but only had English in common, and Fer speaks English as well! The boat trip is not cheap, but really worth the money as you can go into canals and rivers where the bigger boats can't go. Fer stops the boat when you want to take photos or get more information about the whole area, which truely is in his heart. You also just tell him if you need a pit-stop for something to drink, eat or a toilet.
The boat is a rubber dinghy for max 6 adults + Fer. We had the best day with about 4½ hours sightseeing and also time for a glass of wine in one of the small river bars.
Don't buy an expensive excursion from the agencies in Buenos Aires, but take " the tren de la costa", meet Fer and go on this great boat excursion instead!

We lucked into meeting Fernando on a somewhat slow and overcast morning, and off we went to explore the river delta of Tigre. We learned so much about the area and how the people live, enjoyed the scenary and mostly chill-laxed on the boat. The sun busted out and we were set! The train trip from BA and the boating made this a very excellent day trip which contrasted nicely to our city time in BA.

We had a wonderful time with Fer, exploring some of Delta's hidden nature treasures.
The tour is personalised, it was just the guide and us, and they do it on purpose to cater for different needs and interests.
Even the choice of lunch was left to us: we could choose between several local venues, or just leave Fer to cook a wonderful steak (with the mandatory Malbec) for us at their place in one of the islands. We choose the later, and it was just awesome.
Also, with one of us being a local, we can definitely say that the feeling of the trip was more like a typical Argentine day trip with friends, rather than a "tour".
Absolutely recommended!

My sister and I were in Buenos Aires in late February and booked Safari Delta for a day trip through the Delta in Tigre. Tommy was our host and boat driver and we can't say enough about how hospitable and knowledgeable he was. We had made arrangements online and Fernando was there to greet us at the train station, just as planned. We appreciated the flexibility we had -- while he had a pre-planned route to follow, we could choose where we wanted to eat and when. If we wanted to see something close up, Tommy obliged. We were very happy not to be part of a big group! Tommy made lunch for us -- it was great to be able to see what it would be like to have a spot on the river. Great and memorable day!

We had a great day in the unique backwaters of the delta away form the big tour boats and crowds. Fernando shared his love of this special area all with much wit and charm. It was a relaxing break from site seeing in Buenos Aries. Definitely plan this unique outing into your visit to Argentina.
