Treat yourself to this beautiful hotel. You feel the luxury when you drive up and walk into the lobby. It's just two blocks away from Plaza Independencia. A short walk in the other directions and you'll be at the city gates. Request at room that ends in 10. You'll be able to see the mountain on one side and the city on the other from this corner room. The room was set up for a king bed, but the staff were gracious enough to separate the beds for us. The bathroom has a separate bath tub and shower. The bath salts forced me to take a relaxing bath. Make sure you have breakfast. The eggs are runny but the bountiful desserts and champagne make up for it. Just a great place to stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room on a high floor.

I'm confused by some of the negative reviews on this hotel - I suspect they are from people expecting a 5-star hotel in Mendoza. This is a solid 4-star hotel. Upon arriving you'll see that the lobby is beautiful. We arrived very early - 8:30am - and even though they had no rooms for very early check in we were able to use the gym and spa area to shower and change for a day at the wineries. These areas were also spotless and high-end. The room was clean, the bed was extraordinarily comfortable, and the kitchen was fitted out with modern appliances. My only complaint of the room is that the shower leaked on the floor - simply a matter of poor design.

On our 2-night stay one of us unfortunately came down with something so we spent the better part of day 2 in the room. We were able to watch all the TV we wanted (cable), the wireless was fast and easy to use, and the room service was delicious. We had a mountain view room.

If you're looking to focus your trip on the wineries, don't stay here in downtown Mendoza. But if you'd like to see the city as well this is a great hotel if you don't want to splurge on the Park Hyatt. The hotel is located very near the main drag of restaurants and bars in downtown.

I consider this place a great value becuase we were able to get a room for about US$100 (at the REAL exchange rate, not the credit card rate). However I wouldn't spend anything above $200 here; for that price you should go to the Park Hyat..

Room Tip: Ask for mountain view room.

I had read their negative reviews on TripAdvisor and booked with them anyway because I was looking for a convenient location. All the negative things that the other guest commented on, I had experienced them. The rooms were spacious and we had a good view of the mountain and even fireworks on our first night. I had booked and paid for a mountain view room but they gave us the cheaper room and I had to called them to complain before they change it. I wouldn't have been so annoyed with a mistake like that, had they took such a long time with check in and made me pay for 3 nights stay upon check in even though they had my credit card details. I have never had any hotels do that, ever! Our luggage took more than 45mins to arrive even though the hotel clearly doesn't look busy. Our room floors were very dusty throughout our stay and no slippers were provided.

Their wine tasting is a joke because they hide the wine in the kitchen and since there were no staff around to attend to you have to go to the reception to call the sommelier out with the wine.

You have to chase them several times for your laundry. Even simple pressing takes them more than a day to come back. We had to call them incessantly and we got tired of waiting so long for them to check every time than we just went out with wrinkled dirty clothes.

Cheap selection at breakfast.

We stayed two nights as part of a larger group. Nice hotel, decent sized rooms, but not overly clean. We got a room with a beautiful view of the mountains, but with the disadvantage of noise from the street. Windows not very sound proofed. Breakfast was good. Location in Mendoza perfect with walking distance to shops and restaurants. Conveniently there is a small shop app. 25 meters from the hotel if you turn right when you leave the hotel. They have water, snacks, bear etc. If you continue right on the next street there are plenty of restaurants.

I would definitely stay here again if I return to Mendoza.

We stayed for one night, fabulous reception area. We were upgraded to a corner room which was huge with all the mod cons you would expect of an international hotel. Fantastic spread for breakfast including lovely fresh orange juice and sparkling wine if you liked.

in a nutshell:
*concierge was on 'holiday' for three weeks--leaving the front desk to answer questions
*room was VERY clean but inexplicably hot as we arrived
*breakfast buffet would compare to a fast food disaster--staff appeared to be dazed
*second day things got worse--room service 'forgot' to leave towels/soap/shampoo/toilet paper--yikes :-(
*we were/are very lucky to speak spanish---otherwise all communication seems to be in spanish only--strange
*second day saga continues--attempted to contact room service for 20 minutes
think i'll end here.....

Room Tip: well---we chose a city view---i'm presently looking out at the tops of corrugated metal roofing
