So we wanted a bit more space, but didn't want to pay much more than a hostel. The 3 of us checked in, we had 2 bedrooms with 4 beds all together - job done.
So its a bit dark and dingy, the staff speak no english, but despite my initial fears Hotel Edian turned out to be a trump card. We were well looked after, and the rooms were kept clean. Location wise, the hotel is just off the end of Belgrano, near the old station. Plaza de Indepencia, restaurants and nightlife are all less than 20 mins walk away. The area felt fairly safe at night.
The cost for 3 people was 120 pesos a night - bonus!
PS - if anyone finds an ipod nano there, enjoy the tunes...
