“the woman of the year!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 March 2013

We stayed in the duplex "al fundo del jardin" and had a wonderful time. Sylvia was like our mother, caring when we were not ok, was a wonderful cook when Emir had his WE with his family and is also an excellent tripadvisor. On top of this, she as very patient with my spanish which I wanted to improve. She is just everywhere!
We stayed for several nights and had an excellent stay. About 5 minutes walk from the main road with the restaurants, and about 15 minutes walk from the center of the city, this bed and breakfast is really a place we can advice. We don't know about the other rooms, but the duplex is very nice and very calm. Breakfast is correct and the food in the evening one of the best we tasted in Argentina. There is a nice (small) garden and a small swimming pool (the water is not heated but was really nice even though cold). As for the laundry, I had some wool pullobers that needed to be treated separately and I got them back in a perfect shape. Maybe the best place we stayed in Argentina!

Room Tip: Ask for the duplex....

My husband and I stayed here this March for 4 nights and had an excellent stay. The staff (Sylvia and her sons, and various other workers) spoke English and were very accomodating. We arrived from the bus station early in the morning and Sylvia was very gracious and allowed us to check in early to catch up on our sleep.

Sylvia and sons booked us last-minute excursions without any problems, and we ate with Emir twice. The location is perfect - about a 15 minute walk to the center of town, but located in a residential area that was quiet. We felt safe the whole time and found excellent restaurants for lunch and dinner within a 5 minute walk.

The hotel is a converted lovely home and our room was small but nicely decorated. The home is older and has a few quirks, but that only made it feel more like home to us. For instance, there are no electronic room door locks but old-fashioned keys. You had to find the sweet spot for the key to work in the lock, and that only made the charm of the house more apparent.

Breakfast was yummy and typical of what we found in Argentina. We were offered eggs with breakfast but did not try them. We were happy that fruit was offered all mornings, as well as medialunas, toast, juices, cereal, yogurt, milk, coffee, and hot chocolate and teas. There was definitely more than enough to choose from and to fill us up for the morning activities.

One of our excursions was a trip to the Andes to hike. We went with Alberto and Pablo who were fantastic guides. Even though the weather was a bit cool and cloudy, the experience was wonderful.

We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a charming hotel with excellent staff. If you are looking for a modern, large room that is more characteristic of high-end hotels with staff who jump at your finger-snap for that large tip, then this is not for you. If you are looking for people who truly care that your experience is unique and enjoyable, stay here!

I stayed for four nights. I am not sure I would choose it again. I think hotel needs some serious refurbishment. Pool area is nothing to write home about or God forbid to actually use the pool. I think management seriously needs to invest in breakfast as offering a stale break and a muddy coffee would not classify as a breakfast in my books. My room could have been cleaner but maybe i have high standards as I do not like to see stains on my bed. If you are offering only a bed and breakfast then do it right.

we stayed four nights and found Emir, Walter and Sylvia very gracious and helpful in providing recommendations about restaurants and transportation. it feels more like a bed and breakfast in some ways than a hotel as it is a family run business, Sylvia's former home. The walk into center of town is about 15 minutes along pleasant tree lined streets. Hotel is close to numerous restaurants. Room is clean, bathroom is small. breakfast is basic but you can order hot food at a small extra charge. very good value.

Couldn't have asked for a better stay. Mendoza was so hot this February,so the pool and the air in our room was much appreciated. Emir made us the most amazing dinner, made specifically for my Vegetarian/gluten-free daughter. The hotel was a perfect size, and the staff very helpful. The owners are lovely, and it shows in everything about the hotel. What a treasure for us to find.

The Bohemia Hotel is an excellent place to stay in Mendoza. I would almost call this place a bed and breakfast if "hotel" wasn't in the name. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the garden and pool area are beautiful. The breakfast menu is above average as it adds a short order menu to the standard buffet fare.

Room Tip: Try to get room number 4. It is by itself around the corner by the pool.

I'm woefully late in writing this review. My wife and I and a couple friends stayed here in August 2012 on the recommendation from an American Airlines pilot that a friend knew. We loved our experience there. It’s not a five star hotel, but it’s also considerably cheaper than the Park Hyatt is and I can’t imagine the service is any better there.

The house is old, but we found it to be kept up nicely and very quaint. We were there in the winter and arrived to a chilly room but the heater warmed it quickly. We had no issues with cleanliness and found the bed to largely be quite comfortable.

What really made this place shine was the wonderful service that Emir gave us. He set up private tours of wineries and a trip out to the mountains that were considerably cheaper than the group tours we could have booked. He gave us great recommendations for lunch and dinner around town and all in all made us feel at home.

We would return there in a heartbeat. Thanks to Emir and his staff for a great stay!

Room Tip: Ask Emir for some of his private label wine.
