If you want to see Iguazu Falls this is a practical choice b/c you are right in the national park. We had a falls facing suite, on the of the nicest rooms in the hotel, with a huge terrace. We had to request lounge chairs for the terrace and the room was very mildewy which is sort of understandable b/c everything gets very wet from the falls. They are indeed spectacular, but a tourist trap par excellence. It is a very packaged experience. The hotel itself feels like an inexpensive cruise ship with the similar clientele. I recommend coming to see the falls and staying one night, or two at the most. It is worth seeing once.

We stayed at the Sheraton Iguazu for only one night, but it was one night too many. Although the hotel is well located on the grounds of the falls, it is an otherwise really unpleasant stay. It's very expensive, the staff are brusk, absolutely no individual attention whatsoever. You get the sense that you're being herded around like cattle and that the staff are doing all they can to make as short work of you as possible. Our stay there definitely detracted from the experience of being next to this incredible world heritage location, a once in a lifetime event.
If I were to go again, a bit more research would reveal some other hotels, not located on the grounds which have great reputations and only a 5 or 10 minute shuttle or taxi ride away.
Good luck!

This hotel isn't perfect - it's expensive, the food is mediocre and although the staff are very helpful & friendly the bar is understaffed. BUT you probably only get the chance to stay in a location with a view like this maybe once or twice in your lifetime - so don't miss out (and definitely choose a room with a view of the falls). We spent 2 amazing nights here which was just enough time to see everything - we spent a leisurely full day on the Argentina side and then a couple of hours on the Brazil side the following day. The location of the hotel makes it very easy to come and go as you like and I'd definitely recommend going for a walk on the upper circuit just before the park closes as that's when all the wildlife comes out to play. It's also close to the airport (only about 15 minutes).

As others have stated, the main (only ?) reason to stay here is for the location. Only people staying at the hotel are allowed after 7 pm and can't come early in the morning. It's a long ride into town and back.

We had to request another room because our original room had a water stain on the picture the size of a grapefruit, moldy smell in the room, and a sliding glass door that was almost impossible to open. We moved from the 3rd floor to the 1st floor and it was more pleasant. The front desk staff was very helpful as was all the staff in the hotel.

The food left us very disappointed. We were too tired at the end of each day to go into town so we had most all our meals at the hotel. The wait staff is VERY slow so it takes a long time to have a meal. The breakfast buffet was good but the dinner buffet didn't live up to our expectations. At first it looked like it was going to be very good but turned out to be just okay. The lunch choices are very limited.

Be sure to visit the travel agent in the lobby of the ground floor and make arrangements to go to the Brazilian side of the falls. You don't have to have a Brazilian visa and the price is very reasonable. We had a car and tour guide for 5-6 hours for $60 each. We didn't realize that's the best view of the falls because they have an elevator on that side that takes you down to the base of the falls.

There is a sign on the terrace that says "Don't feed the monkeys". In fact they are cotimundi which I think is a little like a racoon and an anteater. We were sitting on our balcony when below us a "herd" of 35 or so contimundi appeared suddenly at the base of some banana plants.

As you sit on the terrace in the late aternoon to have a pisco sour, be sure to notice how the windows rattle from the falls.

Stayed here for 3 nights at the end of our month long honeymoon around Chile and Argentina. Although a little expensive compared to comparable hotels in Argentina you are of course paying a premium for the amazing location only a short walk away from the falls. With the exception of the pool which needs a little work and the pool bar staff who need a little customer service training; this hotel is fantastic - the rooms each with semi-private balcony (definitely worth paying for the falls view) are very comfortable, spotless and well protected from the nearby bugs of the forest/jungle; and the service was amazing - the best we had - surprising as this hotel is only rated as ***

The hotel is a Sheraton and would therefore be unremarkable but for its location, which for me raises it from a neutral rating to excellent.

We had booked a falls view room which was well worth it - the hotel's communal areas do not generally enjoy an uninterrupted view of the falls and for the two nights we were there we ordered room service in order to have dinner on the balcony with what has to be one of the best views anywhere in the world.

The additional cost was insignificant (particularly when our stay, in common with most, was so brief).

Being in the park on the Argentinian side the hotel offers access to most of the walking trails around the falls although most other related attractions seem to be on the Brazilian side. This was not a problem for us as our agent had arranged the stay through a Brazilian ground agency meaning that crossing the border was seamless compared to doing so on coaches (and the associated queues) which was the fate that befell a number of other guests.

Fairly basic chain hotel room...but you can't beat staying in the park...staff was friendly and helpful...some minor issues getting our bags brought up to the room from the lobby. Great though to just be able to chill out and look at the falls from the room, from the bar terrace, breakfast cafe, etc...lay by the pool after a day exploring the paths of the falls. We headed into town each night for dinner (taxi was about US$15-20 each way), which we preferred to being at the hotel 24hrs a day and gave us a flavor of the town and there are some good places to eat, but I think the food at the hotel is meant to be good. Overall an enjoyable and relaxing experience.
