“Love at first sight”
Reviewed 19 December 2013

We arrived as part of a tour group for a two night stay. First impressions of the hotel were great and it did not disappoint. Following free upgrade to a rear view of the confluence of the river we liked the hotel layout.
We had dinner in the restaurant one night and it was good. Service was somewhat drawn out but we did not mind as we were in good company. The swimming pool is designed for relaxation and not for serious swimming - too many protrusions, level variances etc. but safe.
It is a most relaxing place - and the five minute taxi run into the village is cheap

This is a magnificent hotel. Everything about it is beautiful. The location on the river, where three borders come together, Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay. The outdoor swimming pool is beautiful. The indoor Jacuzzi is nice but not hot just nearly warm. The rooftop deck with its views is incredible. The rooms are very nice and are fairly large. The dining room is beautiful. The buffet dinner was delicious. The buffet breakfast is very nice with a very large selection. With all that said the only thing holding back a 5 star rating is the service. For a beautiful classy hotel you expect exceptional service. Our hair dryer in the room broke while we were using it, it took 24 hours to replace it. Our buffet dinner reservation was at 7:30, the time the restaurant opens for dinner. The buffet was not even set up at 7:30, it took about 20 minutes for them to set it up, and even once set up, there were missing serving spoons, etc. I had to request salt at breakfast, which took more than 5 minutes for the staff to find. It took more than 10 minutes to get towels at the pool. These are just a few examples of why I did not give a 5 rating. They need to work with their staff to improve service. But the hotel itself is beautiful.

Room Tip: Get a room on the river side.

Perfectly situated for visiting both sides of the falls this is a first class hotel with a modern design. We were impressed with all aspects of our stay. Starting with an extensive buffet breakfast through dinner and evenings on the patio.

The room was in excellent shape, not large but modern and convenient. It was the unique design of the outside areas that most distinguished this hotel. The view from this hotel is most definitely the best of any of the non-park hotels and one to write home about.

We were greeted by Nelson who spoke excellent English and provided us with an overview of the hotel and area. All of the people who served us spoke adequate English and were very helpful and service oriented.

Our dinner was excellent especially the local fish, Surubí. I would highly recommend trying it. Very attentive service in both the dining room and bar area. It was a delightful evening capped off by a short walk and time sitting out by the pool on the unique large wooden chairs.

The pool was also unique in its design with a large deck and spacious swimming areas. It would have been a nice resort even without the benefit of its location. We did not visit other hotels in the area, but it is hard to imagine any hotel nicer in Puerto Iguaz.

Room Tip: Hard to see how you can top the view no matter what floor you are on.

The hotel is outdated and shabby. Breakfast is terrible with only sweets but no bacon and eggs. Not even bread. We had to chase the staff for coffee every day. The pool has many loose planchets. Dangerous. Also here chasing the staff. The restaurant is mediocre. Again bad service. Almost every wine we ordered was out of stock. Do not go there!

It is situated on the outskirts of the small village Igazu. Is just around the corner from the Tres Frontiers, were the borders of Argentina, Paraguay and Brazils meet. The reception staff where very welcoming and informative. The hotel is built with an atrium so that gives it an airy touch but it also means that noise from the restaurant travels into your hotel room which can be quite disturbing in the late hours.

The rooms with garden view are OK but the best is the pool area. As there is nothing else to do after watching the waterfalls it is good that the hotel has a gym and a very nice spa. The breakfast was great, the only minus was the slow cleaning of tables.

This was the only place on our tour where my wife used her credit card - to guarantee incidentals. Several days later there were attempted charges in Argentina on her card. It had to be someone at this hotel that lifted the numbers. I messaged the hotel to advise them, and got a auto reply that they would respond in 24 hours, but they never did

Dear Mr.
Greetings from Iguazú! We are really surprised about this situation, but we have to clear this: we didn´t ask for your credit card details to guarantee your extra charges because we never do that when we receive groups (it's a regular policy). Also your extras have been paid by cash, so we never had your credit card information.
We already sent you an e mail explaining all the situation and we’re in contact with your travel agent in order to help you to find out a settlement.
Best regards,

This quite new hotel has pristine views of the three countries Paraguay, Brazil and Argentina. The pool is good to relax, the staff there very relaxed. The atrium was quiet in our stay, the breakfast with all argentinian details plus a great selection of fresh fruit. A real delicious plus were the little pastries!
The bathroom has a tub, yet while taking a shower, some flooding does occur. And as the light switch is inside the bathroom, the sharp tile edge of the tub is waiting for a late night victim.
The front desk staff was extremely helpful and friendly.
Would recommend this hotel.
