The pool is great and it looks special but the rooms are below the Holiday Inn standard. There are no hangers for towels, no suitecase racks and very very plain. It is well used from carpet to furniture. It is fine for a day or so but not as you would expect. Our room overlooks the front driveway on the 1st floor. Noise is a problem. If you stay ask for a room overlooking the back and pool area.

Room Tip: A room in the back overlooking the pool - do not get a room overlooking the front because of noise.

Elegant and accommodating, with fabulous views of two other countries from your balcony, overlooking a huge and gigantic swimming pool and the river. Staff are well trained, multi-lingual, and eager to assist and please. Room was immaculate, well appointed, and a pleasure to occupy. Plus the view was incomparable. Restaurant was iffy - some dishes were divine, others were so-so, but nothing was truly awful, or even close. As power could unexpectedly cut out, noble efforts were made -and successful!- in working through the handicap. It is the furthest hotel from town center, and not easily walkable in hot weather, but taxis are reasonably priced and readily available. If you want or need an English speaking driver, let the desk know. Taxis are the best choice to reach the entrance to the falls, and your driver will be happy to make arrangements to pick you up at the end of your visit. Tipping is appreciated and well deserved. A great pleasure to have stayed here, thoroughly impressive.

The Amerian Hotel at Iguazu Falls, Argentina is a must for hose who travel to this area of The country. Every amenity was outstanding, from King Size beds to large rooms to excellent staff. We recommend this stay,

Room Tip: Rooms in the rear look over the rivers that merge at the hotel!

This hotel is in a beautiful location - surrounded by jungle with an amazing view of the river. There are lots of nice places to sit and look at the views and I particularly like the beautiful, huge amethysts in the lounges.

Bedroom is a good size and the beds are comfortable. Staff are helpful and thoughtful.

However! It. Is. NOISY! As others have said, the noise from the restaurant carries straight up to the bedrooms and I so wished I hadn't paid extra for a river view room because the music from the swimming pool carried up too. Between the music on one side and the restaurant noise on the other, I didn't quite know where to put myself. After the most beautiful and awe-inspiring day at the falls, I felt as if I had come down to earth with a bump.

If you have children and are looking for somewhere with a bit of entertainment (e.g. music, pool, etc.) I'm sure this place would be great. But I was hoping for a peaceful break - and this wasn't it.

Room Tip: Personally I wouldn't pay extra for a river room again. If you want one, I'd suggest asking...

Very well located hotel with a tremendous sight to Brazil and Paraguay; nearby one can go walking around the Argentinian river coast road which is by all means very recommendable. Facilities and amenities are also good and the hotel interior design is beautiful. The most remarkable attribute that I highlight is the good service of the personnel as well as their willingness to help always with a friendly smile. You can not miss the chance to go to the SPA on the last floor, specially to use the cold water shower with a very curious bucket-shower system. To improve, humidity smell of rooms and bath facilities for senior people.

Our river view room overlooked the confluence of the 2 rivers. Great views. The breakfast was very good with many local items on the buffet. Accommodation adequate but not 5 star by any means. The decor was a bit tired and needed an update. The pool and gardens were well maintained.

Rather expensive, but I suppose one is paying for the location.

There is some confusion on hotel policies. Bottled Water from room service costs more than if you get water from housekeeping. No turn down sevice from Housekeeping, but a housekeeper hands over a chocolate at the door. Very strange! I found an empty bottle in my room fridge, that once contained water. When I informed Reception, nothing was done about it. No replacement for the item in the mini bar. Staff not very efficient in the restaurant - they forgot my dessert and I cancelled it in frustration. The Manager attempted to send the dessert to my room, but there wasn't much point as it was really very late by then. However, the food was tasty and portion sizes good. Be sure to try the Surubi, the local fish. Great!

Check-in was well handled, as was check-out. Most everything else was done at a snail's pace and without enthusiasm.

Room Tip: Ask for the river facing rooms on the higher floors

Wow. The Amerian hotel is definitely a spectacular property in the best location in Puerto Iguazu...where else can you gaze out your window at three countries separated by two rivers?? While this hotel is further away from Iguazu Falls (we were picked up first and dropped off last), I would stay here again and enjoyed the setting (palm trees, greenery) so much more than the urban hotels in Buenos Aires.

Room: (we were in 416 and 320) we reserved a garden view room with twin beds, but after 5 days in Buenos Aires on a twin bed I was ready to have a comfortable night's sleep for my last 2 nights. The woman at the reception desk very kindly changed her mind that switching to a garden view with two queen beds (rather one king that separated into two twins) would be an extra $477,50 (pesos) per night; we received the upgrade for free. Room was spacious, bathroom roomy and nicely decorated, balcony a nice touch ('garden' room looks over the hotel's driveway and landscaping). Robes provided (good for pool cover-up) Carpet a bit worn. Shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and soap provided; blow dryer provided.

Spa: if you want a great massage, ask for Tanya. I'm picky about my massages and always compare everyone to my masseuse at home, and Tanya helped me relax. Massage was very reasonably priced as well, with a great view of the three countries out the window. Clean rooms. Apparently they want you to start completely bare; I grabbed a towel for the area below my waist and above my legs.

Pool: looks awesome. Love the lounge chairs on the ledge in the water. Adequate number of lounge chairs. Very interesting architectural design. Drink service (order at the pool bar/restaurant; they bring the drinks to you but you have to eat the food in the outdoor restaurant). Convenient and delicious lunch available at the pool restaurant but must order wine from the lobby bar (which may have to be retrieved from the restaurant bar...be patient). Could use more regular cleaning...debris at the bottom of the pool in the corners. Pool towels provided for free (you check them out to your room from an attendant).

Staff: outstanding and friendly. Nelson was particularly patient as my friend and I wanted to check out both the twin and queen bed set-ups. Doormen and staff assisting with luggage also very helpful. The taxis are small in Argentina, which is a consideration when packing (I watched a sad yet hilarious scenario evolve as a taxi driver attempted to figure out how to fit three women with four large pieces of luggage in his vehicle).

Restaurant: free and extensive breakfast buffet. Orange juice was very fresh and delicious. Mixed fruit juice was strange. Dinner was tasty but rather average, and service was a bit discombobulated and too attentive. Good selection of wines...I loved the Quara and Rutini vineyards.

Business Center: in the lobby, four walk-ups with computers and internet access. In hindsight, I should have reviewed how to use a Spanish keyboard before I left (still don't know how to type an "@") and all browsers defaulted to Spanish (I needed to translate to English). We suspect the Amerian's firewall blocks access to Time Warner Cable's Roadrunner email; we couldn't get to it on our smart phones or their business center. We could access our Google and Yahoo emails.

About a 25-minute safe walk to the restaurants on Cordoba Avenue...longer yet more interesting walk if you curve to the right out to the driveway and walk along the river, especially at night when everyone is out (avoiding the heat of the day). Take a map.

Room Tip: Rooms in the center facing the pool have a rounded large balcony; these appear to be suites or large...
