“Rustic look at Iguazu”
Reviewed 28 April 2014

We stayed in this hotel for two nights, during a South American tour, just to visit Iguazu Falls. The hotel is very nice - the pool area is exceptional, the breakfast was good and the other menu items were generally very good. The rooms were a decent size and some of the rooms have views of the rivers/three countries. The spa is excellent and the staff is very accommodating. The hotel is within walking distance to restaurants and shops in town. The common areas are plentiful, spacious and beautiful. The falls is about a 10 minute drive away.

We had a road view but the hotel is on the river near where the three borders meet. It has a good breakfast and the rooms were comfortable and well sized. We stayed for two nights and enjoyed the visit. The service in the bar was a little slow but hey we were on vacation. It is a pleasant place to walk by where the two rivers meet.

Room Tip: Would prefer a river view but probably cost more.

although we had a road facing one and it didn't really bother us…
considering the river/swimming pool fronting rooms can be loud because of functions, e.g. weddings and small children screaming at pool…
same goes with rooms facing the indoor yard/restaurant…

rooms were super spacious…
uberbig beds (fantastic)…
and got a five star feeling although i would not count it as one…

breakfast: amazing!
staff: friendly

on the map it appears quite far from central restaurants and happenings…
but it's actually walking distance...

Room Tip: not indoor yard facing… river view: brilliant however can be noisy if outdoor function (if you just...

Stayed here for three nights while at the falls. Minuses: Very noisy on our first night with live music in the restaurant area, breakfast very unimpressive, food in both restaurants was below average (although probably average by general Argentinian standards based on our experience), long walk to town, expensive. Pluses: Great view of the rivers and the three countries from our room (sadly no balcony), welcoming, friendly and helpful staff with good English-speaking ability, nice, comfortable rooms, lovely grounds around great swimming pool. While modern and attractive in some respects, the place does lack soul. By the time we left, I likened the experience to Groundhog Day, expressing horror at the prospect of having to repeat it day after day.

I would look for something with more charm and easier access to the outdoors next time around -- perhaps a cabin.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the rear of the hotel look out over the river and pool. Nice. A room with a balcony w...

Thank you very much for sharing your experience with us!

I also thanks for the emphasis on our high points, our views, team, rooms and pool areas and gardens.
Regarding the minuses, we regret that you have not had a 100% satisfactory experience because our distance to downtown (eight blocks) and if you has been annoyed by the music of our restaurant.

Sincerely,

Nice view from the river facing rooms, but a very noisy hotel. We had to be moved twice on our 2 day stay. Both times due to noise and the awful smells in the room that had carpet. The food is distinctly average, chips served cold. Would not recommended, if you have to, take ear plugs!

Room Tip: Ask for river facing room, and with wooden flooring

We stayed in this hotel for two nights while visiting the famous falls. It is beautiful- the rooms were large with decent bathrooms and a balcony. Some of the rooms face the river and have views of the three countries but ours didn't. The hotel has a wonderful pool bar area and is within walking distance to restaurants in town and nearby. All of the common areas are modern, spacious and beautiful. The breakfast is excellent. The falls is about a 10 minute drive away- we were on a tour and had transportation so it didn't matter to us.

Room Tip: Try to get a room in the back overlooking the two rivers and three countries.

As others have mentioned there is a major design flaw in this hotel: All rooms are based around a central atrium which echoes with noise all day. The rooms are badly soundproofed, meaning diners in the restaurant may as well be in your room - particularly disturbing when there is live music in the evenings.

This is a big, soulless hotel full of tour groups. I could accept that, but there is something critical to every hotel: You should be able to sleep there. The noise at this hotel made that difficult, hence the rating.

Breakfast was the poorest in two weeks in Brazil and Argentina. Very disappointing.

I should say that the staff were very friendly and helpful.
