3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 November 2012 via mobile

We had a strange smell in the room, and the breakfast was almost non-existent/poor. The pool is not sized for swimming, at best good for children.
Location is not bad, a 10min walk from the central bus station for the falls.
For the same price, you might find a better option with newer rooms.

We stayed for two nights. First night in a 4bed -hared- bath- room and the 2nd in a 3bed- private-bathroom. The first was clean and fine but was close to the public area and therefore quite noisy during the night and the beds weren't very comfy. The other one was AMAZING! It was in the back of the hostel and was super clean and had über comfortable beds! The cooking area was fine as well. The owner was very helpfull and he offered us a private shuttle service for the same price as the bus to the falls (defenitly more comfortable and much quicker!)
In total: Absolutely recommendable!

We had a brilliant time in Iguazu. Apart from the waterfalls, what really made this trip was the helpful and welcoming nature of the staff. They sat down with us and explained our options for visiting the park when we arrived, sold us our bus tickets and even organised a private transfer to the park for the same price.
What´s more is they offered us the option to obtain a receipt for the various excursions within the park (without paying in advance) in case we decided to do them on the day. This would enable us to skip the queues as well as not having to carry around as much cash. We paid everything when we checked out.
We stayed in two different rooms, one night in a dormitory which was close to reception and therefore a little loud. The second night we were in a three bed ensuite which was very comfortable and much quieter.
The strong water pressure in the shower was also much appreciated after being soaked on the boat trip!

This being our first stay in a "hostel" type of accommodation we were pleasantly surprised at the casual and relaxed atmosphere. It was nice to interact with other guests at the kitchen facility. Pablo at the reception desk was very friendly and provided us with good information and service. The pool was also great for our grandson aged 10.

I had quite some difficulty finding a cheap accomodation in Puerto Iguazu. As we were all day out, we were only looking for a cheap, centrally located, clean room with private bathroom. And this was exactly what we got. Javier was really helpful and organized airport transfer as well as a taxi to the falls on the day of arrival. We also asked for some restaurant recommendations and they were all really good.
The rooms were clean, but nothing fancy. I would say: functional. Room temperature was ok. Somehow my internet connection wasn't working, but the other guests didn't seem to have problems with that. Breakfast was a bit poor, but ok to start the day! Location is perfect: just 2 blocks from the bus station, were you normally arrive and were you can take the public bus to the falls (really easy). I would stay there again, no doubt.

Location: **** (out of 5) located two blocks from the central bus station

Service: ** (out of 5). Breakfast bad, Javier at the lobby is very supportive with explanations regarding the waterfalls

Room, Hotel overall, infrastructure (internet): ** (out of 5): Internet on the terrace ok, air condition very noisy and old and can not be adjusted. Either on or off. I got a cold!

Overall rating: ** stars out of 5. It is cheap but I prefer a better air condition!

The stay here served its purpose rather than being spectacular in either direction, a functional double room with aircon and with a functional bathroom.  The reception staff were very helpful in booking trips to the falls and there was wifi in the common areas.

Most people will be looking for somewhere for a couple of nights as they visit the falls and the accommodation is clean, nice hot showers and relatively close to the station, so will serve that purpose.
