“Lovely homely lodge with great outdoor space”
Reviewed 20 September 2013

We stayed here for two nights whilst exploring Iguazu Falls, and loved it. The lodge is really quiet and each cabana is really spacious and homely in its decoration. The eating space and breakfast served to your door each morning is also really nice after weeks of staying in hotels! What stood out for us most was how accommodating Danny, the owner, was - booking us taxis and even ordering us a takeaway pizza when we couldn't face going out for dinner again! Home away from home.

We stayed 2 nights at the end of our trip to Argentina and we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Toucan Lodge.

You can get here easily by taxi from the town (30-40 pesos) or from the local airport (140 pesos). There is also a local bus from the town (3 pesos) which stops a mere 300 metres from Toucan Lodge. We also enjoyed strolling back from town which took around half an hour.

The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. Having a refrigerator and kettle along with kitchen utensils was very convenient.

There is a lovely garden with a nice pool to cool down in at the end of a hot day.

The owner, Danny, and his wife are very, very helpful and provide all the information you could need about transportation, restaurants and local attractions.

Overall, we would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a great relaxing place to stay between the town and the main local attraction, Iguazu waterfalls.

Good value for money and clean accomodation. Owner was English which made life much easier for us and could give advice re the falls. lodges were spacious and in a lovely setting. Short bus ride into the town and taxi to falls was not expensive. However if I went again would choose a place in town for convenience. Had to pay extra for breakfast which was small. Didn't use the swimming pool as it didn't look the cleaniest which was a shame as was very hot when we were there.

this awesome lodge is perfect for a family vacation.
Not recommended for lonely traveller because expensive and too confortable, maybe useless.
i mean, it was great staying there but i wouldn't choose it again if travelling alone. I would definetely choose it with some friends looking for relax. total relax.
Anyway, the owner, Toni, is brilliant, kind and very helpful.
The location of the lodge is not in town, not in the centre, so it takes some time to go.

The Toucan Lodge is a good choice for anyone planning on spending a few days near Iguacu Falls. We chose it because there was more of what we wanted to see on the Argentine side of the falls. Arrival was by way of the airport at Foz do Iguacu, Brazil. It is a small modern airport. There is good service there from Curitiba and other parts of Brazil. We had arranged for a Brazilian car and driver to take us across the border and on to the Toucan Lodge in Argentina. Crossing the border was no problem. Finding the Toucan Lodge was a bit more difficult but not bad. If you go, have the driver follow Ruta 12 beyond the town of Puerto Iguacu towards the falls. Watch for a sign on the right for " La Aripuca". Just beyond the sign turn right. Continue up and through and intersection. The Toucan Lodge is about 300 meters on the left. There is a sign on the gate. That is the only sign we know of. Danny and Christina are just wonderful. The lodge is only four years old. The local craftsmen did a superb job building it. Nice large suites and beauitful grounds with a pool.Handy to take a bus to Iguacu falls. We just loved walking back from the bus. The road is so peaceful, like a country lane. When departing Danny arranged for a cab. Our flight from Foz do Iguacu Brazil was very early . We left the Toucan Lodge at 2:30 am .Danny was up to make sure we got away on time.

The manager of the hotel is one of the most helpful guy I saw on a small hotel like this. The first day, he spent almost an hour to explain how to move from there, how to get to the National Park, to the town, etc. He's really polite and a nice guy, coming from London so he do speak english.

The hotel is located between the National Park of Iguazu and the small city Foz do Iguaçu. So it's outside of town, but not a big problem. You can do go the park from the bus station which is the main road, 5-10 mins by walk. You can also go to to the town by a bus, but taxi aren't so expensive. On the way back from the park, you can also stop in town, so you'll save that since wherever you go by bus it's all the same price.

Hotel has a small breakfast when you ask for it and served directly at your room. Rooms are pretty nice and huge, You have a bedroom (with A/C!), a living room and a bathroom. You can also enjoy the outside swimming pool after a full day at 40 celcius!
