“Presentation is Everything”

Great Food!
During my first visit to Argentina, we ate around various places near the hotel my friends and I were staying at. Although good food was abundant, I always enjoyed and wanted to try something with a minimalist presentation and beautiful design and so that’s why their menu stood out. In fact, I ended up going back there the next day to try their pasta! Being a steak-lover, the first night I ordered their fillet mignon with red wine. I had red wine on the side and it was presented beautifully (presentation is important) just outside the restaurant. The beautiful weather coupled with wine and the medium-rare tender steak was a perfect way to end my first day in the city (and indeed the country). I had a chat with a wonderful server there who gave me advice on what to do the following day around town. I ended up staying for dinner with my friends for a few hours until we decided to head back into the hotel to catch up on sleep. However, I felt the atmosphere was simply great enough and decided to return the next day to try their pasta. On my second return, I ordered Spaghetti with garlic, oil and red pepper and had white wine for the side. Like the night before, it was splendid. One thing I love about their short menu is that I know the chefs prepare the food with great care that comes from many years of experience. That’s evident not only in the presentation, but the taste of the food. It was simply delicious! Again, coupled with the wonderful atmosphere, weather, and service, I really enjoyed my time there. I definitely plan on going again next time I visit!

“Great gourmet experience”
Reviewed 5 April 2013 via mobile

We had 2 dinners recently & both were well attended by guests. The tables outside were beautifully laid with tablecloths in the evening which was lovely by the pool & garden lighting. Our entre was a delicious fresh mixed salad with very good quality olive oil & balsamic vinegar. My husband ordered a prawn cocktail which was very fresh. Over 2 evenings we tried the perfectly cooked fillet mignon & I feel the pink peppercorn sauce is the best sauce. We had a very artistically presented entre that was complimentary with a spritzig & Campari drink. There was also a generous serving of bread & dip. We never tried the dessert as we had enough to eat. Our only criticism is the cost of wine which is double that of all the restaurants that we have eaten at in Argentina. We thought the selection was also limited & ordered a wine that was 2012 vintage & a bit young.

“Plate of Wonders”
Reviewed 20 March 2013

hmmm,
I had to go back for lunch at the Restaurant Gourmet La Fonte after my first taste and sight of the plate of Spaghetti. It was so arranged i was afraid to ruin the beautiful art work;but i was skeptical that the taste will not match the beauty, but i was proved wrong...the more reason I had to go back back for another lunch,
I will say thumbs up to the chef, he made my vacation a memorable one.
i will say,it is a place to always be.

“The wonderful Gourmet La Fonte”
Reviewed 15 March 2013

Me and my newly married bride spent two weeks at Boutique Hotel de la Fonte for our honey moon and it was far too short. The Italian architect who designed and owns the Hotel put a lot of effort into personalizing every room with Luxurious designs. The garden has spectacular water fountains, cute pounds, and a full variety of exotic trees and plants. The Hotel is also conveniently located in the downtown area of Puerto Iguazu and is in walking distance of many of the attractions and museums of the town.
The Restaurant Gourmet La Fonteis a one stop shop you can stay at their hotel, eat in their restaurant, swim in their special salt swimming pool, work out at their gym, get a new hair style and even get a manicure and pedicure. We loved that place. Their restaurant dishes are creative, full of aromas, colors and flavors that should not enviadiarle to anywhere in the world. The flavor fully colorful menu is inspired by the chefs favorite artists and has a little something for everyone: surubi ( local fresh fish), Lomo (beef), (My personal favorite) prawns sauteed with tequila and of coarse pasta's. They also have some very good wines. We had the Misterio, which was exquisite. Another great twist that they have is that you can eat inside like every other place or enjoy the scenery and fresh air next to the swimming pool. a very good dinner and dessert for not a very expensive because of the Argentine peso is close to worthless compared to the euro obviously! The only complaint We had about the Gourmet La Fonteis Restaurant is that the menu is so small. If we ever get a Chance to visit Puerto Iguazu, Argentina again Gourmet La Fonteis will be our first stop for dinner.

“Wonderful flavors and outdoor seating.”
Reviewed 3 March 2013

We enjoyed two wonderful dinners at the property. The flavorfully colorful menu was inspired by the chefs favorite artists which was a fun take on entrees. My wife and I both enjoyed all our plates and appetizers. They were probably some of our favorite in Argentina, particularly after being "beefed out" by all our parilla visits.

We preferred the outdoor seating of our first dinner, but our second dinner was forced indoors by rain. If possible, eat outside wearing bug repellent.
