We were due to stay in Los Cataratas but due to a late plane arrival couldnt make it and switched for this hotel. Not really the sort of place we like: lots of blingbling (I guess the hotel's architect must have participated in the contest 'the ugliest hotel ever'), strange-looking people with interesting dress codes, poor breakfast and crap wifi. Luckily it was only for one night and we managed to get out quickly...

The Gran Hotel has many nice features including: all rooms are suites, the bathroom has two sinks, the shower is excellent. One of the best meals we had was in the hotel restaurant (quite expensive, but amazing). We felt the service was also excellent. The fitness facility is ok, and has lots of natural light. The pool is also excellent. There is a garden on site from which all the vegetables for the restaurant are obtained. The only reason this is four instead of five stars is that there was a bit of a lack of attention to detail (i.e., cigarette butts all around the side entrances, clearly for days or more without being cleaned up, there was a leak in the window of our room which got the carpet wet, there was mold around the a/c vent). There were a lot of children at the hotel and while we don't have children, it seemed very family friendly. The breakfast was excellent.

Room Tip: Get a room on the second floor if possible; more privacy. Try to get one facing the pool.

Stayed here for 3 nights while visiting both the Argentine and Brazilian sides of Iguazu Falls. The rooms are large and nicely appointed and the grounds are beautiful. The breakfast is well presented and very tasty with lots of choices. We did not visit the Casino at all, but did walk through and it appeared very popular. Although we speak only a bit of Spanish ( more like Spanglish) we had no problems communicating with the staff. Liked being close to town and having dinner there.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the new wing.

Our family (incluiding 3 year old boy and a 6 months old baby girl) stayed in October 2012. The service is really good, the hotel is beautiful, the pools are great. We stayed at a Jr Suite, a good size to place an adittional bed and a baby cradle. The rooms are nice, could use an update, the bathroom with a tub. They have a very nice playland, excellente if you go with kids. The restaurant is very good. It is just by the border with Brazil, great to visit the waterfalls from both sides.

Room Tip: The Jr Suite is great is you want a good size bedroom if you go with little kids/babies

First it is not Las Vegas but the casino was clean and open. Small coin slots but good tables. The best is the dining. Great steaks and side dishes just as good. Starts you off with a good glass of champane and all the breads were some of best we have had, Service second to none. The black rice and shrimp was so good I could have had it as a meal and the stuffed onion wow!
Overlooking the pool is the best tables. Quite and drinks were never empty.
When enjoying the Falls it is worth the short trip from Brazil and entry is quick and easy. Now it is not cheap but a lot cheaper than Vegas and better service.

Room Tip: All rooms are near the pool and close to the casino. Parking is not the best but go during the week...

I stayed here for a business Convention. I believe this was maybe not typical for the hotel as there were lots of problems with availability of ironing boards which when you are in business it is somewhat important...

The food was sometimes good, sometimes just OK.

Service was sometimes horrible. I think they did not have the staff required to handle a large group. For example I has asked a dessert, waited for 45 mn and did not arrive after asking 3 times. Then asked for the check, waited another 15 mn and asked twice and nothing, i just left.

For those who travel internationally, this is by no means a 5* hotel like what you could find in the US or in France for example. This is a 3 to maybe a 4* hotel.

Rooms felt musty from the humidity even with always the AC on. They would need a dehumidifier. Comfort was however OK and AC very quiet.

Location is average. You cannot really do anything without a taxi.

I heard from some of my colleagues that other hotels were much nice like the Lol suites.
