“Guest House Execrable”
Reviewed 2 May 2014

We stayed in the Yaguarete and the Tucan Rooms(shared bathroom). As my aunt was staying in the Tucan Room we had no problem sharing the bathroom with her. However we were not at all amused by the parade of random persons using our bathroom( at least five people) so we were not able to access our bathroom when we needed too. They were directed there by the staff, who when politely told, they apologised but then continued to direct persons to our facilities.
The bathroom was in a state of disrepair full of mould and rotten wood. The taps had mould and the bedroom smelled very musty.

The grounds were nice and the staff were friendly and they gave us information regarding iguazu. For the price this accommodation was not worth the money paid though.

We spent 2 nights in Iguazu to see the falls. We booked the double with shared bathroom. The room was big and comfortable. The only strange thing was that the mattress seemed to be wrapped in plastic under the sheet, making crinkling noises every time you roll over in bed. Other than this, everything was lovely. Nice, cool a/c for the hot days, beautiful grounds with a view of the river and hammocks for hanging out, and a pool to cool off in. The staff were impeccable - some of the most helpful and friendly we have ever encountered. We enjoyed the drinking water available all day, generous breakfast each morning and the complimentary caipirinha each evening, as well as preparing some light meals for ourselves in the kitchen. Their driver was so professional for our airport pickup that we booked his services for our border crossing to Paraguay as well. Highly recommended!

Located at the end of a very quiet street in a lovely location overlooking the river, this was an excellent place to rest before "doing" the falls.
The staff could not have been friendlier - explaining everything carefully and assisting with dining and sightseeing recommendations. Our Spanish isn't great and their English was very good.

The room was very spacious and air-conditioned with cable TV. We were offered a complimentary cocktail which was very nice, but strong. Breakfast was taken outside and we felt like we were in paradise.

The weather was warm as you would expect, but on our last day a storm was brewing and the humidity felt like 101% - The AC was so welcome. Just be prepared!

We stayed for three nights at the Guest House and really appreciated the solicitousness of the staff and the convenient location. We stayed in the Colibri Junior Suite with our own bathroom and right off the dining patio, which was a very pleasant place for breakfast (generous and very good selection) and in the evening. Martin and the rest of the staff were very hospitable and helpful in advising us on how to walk into town to get the bus to Iguazu National Park and on where to eat, find an ATM, etc. The staff were very helpful if we encountered any difficulties (like never having used a Brazilian shower before!). If you enjoy meeting and chatting with other travelers in a relaxed environment, this is a great place to stay when visiting the Cataratas Iguazu!

Room Tip: Colibri is not a suite in the American sense but more like a hotel room. That said, it's quite n...

We had a lovely stay at the Guest House, thanks in no small part to the service of Fabio and his team. Having emailed beforehand, Fabio arranged a very reasonably priced taxi transfer from the airport on the Brazilian side, using the Guest House's driver Roberto - who later also helped us get to the Falls themselves. Upon check in we had a 45 minute explanation of the area and various options for seeing the Falls - hugely helpful - and had caipirinhas made for us every evening upon returning to the the Guest House. The Guest House itself is lovely (albeit a little old-fashioned) and in a fabulous tranquil location, with the town being only a 10 minute walk away. Would strongly recommend paying local restaurant La Toscana a visit during your stay - we had some wonderful Italian food there (twice, because it was so lovely the first time!). We'd definitely return.

I went with a girl friend to see the Iguazu Falls - and chose the Guest House on line. It proved to be excellent with the kind of luxury I enjoy - a relaxed pace, well organised so we could get to see the Brazil and Argentine side of the falls; a breakfast in the open air, a small swimming pool, and a garden setting overlooking the river that was peaceful. Each evening we walked to a different restaurant - again very good quality food and service.
The staff at the Guest House were friendly and helpful - and we had a great room at the end with a walk in wardrobe of huge proportions - and the bathroom. Definitely a great place to relax after the rigours of walking around.....

We stayed at this friendly guest house for two nights. It's in a lovely quiet setting near the river, easy walking distance to several great restaurant's and the local bakery and the bus station.

The room we had was very spacious, clean and comfortable. The bath room could almost be described as palatial.

The hosts were extremely warm, helpful and spoke excellent English. They also were able to arrange transport (hint ask for Roberto!), advise on local eating places, how to exchange money at the best rates and what and when to visit at the falls.

I can fully recommend this place to stay.
