“Cheap prices but dirty place”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 February 2014

Good thing : nights in bedrooms are really cheap ! And it's very well located (near to the bus station, very useful if you want to catch a bus to see the waterfalls or to go to Brasil). However, the place is quite dirty, very small kitchen and staff member are nice but not specially helpful. The bedrooms are really basics but with AC and the bathrooms are horrible.

Close to the bus station, easy walk to the middle of town. Beer was cheap, 20 ARS for a 1 Ltr bottle of Quilmes.

In our double room there was nowhere to hang any clothes, we only had 1 small bedside cabinet, the Aircon kept tripping the circuit breaker, and then gave up the ghost altogether. There was a ceiling fan, which had so much dust on it you didn't really want to turn it on as it was directly above the bed. We stayed for 3 nights, and as you had a bin as a receptacle for the toilet paper, no one emptied it during our whole stay!

Very good hostel, located one block away from the bus station, which is very convenient to go see the falls or go to Brazil. There's a nice swimming pool, the breakfast is excellent, the staff very helpful, and the rooms not too big (I was in a 4 bed dorm) with air conditioning.
Only one down side to this : there was a LOT of Isreal people, and they tend to be noisy in general, and when I stayed there there was no exception to it. Also, it's sometimes difficult to meet people that all speak a language you don't know, so we didn't socialize during those 2 days. but it wasn't the point anyway :-)

Room Tip: If you're in a dorm, ask for a 4 bed dorm, it's the same price but much less messy!

We arrived in Iguazu on a Rio Uraguay executive bus from Buenos Aires. The bus ride was excellent. Our meals consisted of Steak, potatoes and wine. A lovely surprise.
The Falls hostel was just 300 metres up the road from the bus depot.
The hostel was a real warren of a place with corridors and rooms everywhere.
The pool was nicely set in a well cared for garden. The breakfast was served to you at a table in the garden. Coffee or tea, a croissant and a cake.
We went on the standard Rio Uraguay bus to the falls. Cost was 170 Pesos.return
Entry into the Falls was , I think, $25. We were there for six hours. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Back then to the Falls hostel. Very welcoming staff. Had a nice cold beer from the fridge before going out for a wonderful Steak and wine meal

We spent two nights in this hostel, very nice facilities and beautiful pool which is clean and obviously looked after very well. The rooms are mainly clean but we didn't use the kitchen - it wasn't that clean...
Big advantage in this hostel; it's very close to the bus terminal and to Iguazu falls / Brazilian border.
Staff speak English tho they seem not to have much knowledge about how to get to the falls etc.
However definately to recommend if you only want to stay there for a few nights

I was at the hostel in iguazu falls and just loved the atmosphere. people were so friendly the staff was so helpful. it was a beautiful open space both indoors and outdoors with tables sprinkled all over the outdoor space. when it rains everyone gathers inside the huge main hall to play table tennis or eat or chat.

Stayed at the Hostel Iguazu Falls. An excellent location, only a block from the bus terminal. I booked a private room that included a full size bed and twin sized bunk beds. Reservations were easy to make and I paid when I arrived. I had hot water for the shower. Bed mattress for the full size was firm as were the two pillows. For the room, there are sockets not just for the old and new South American plugs, but also for a North American plug so one may not need an adapter. The AC was not working (the breaker box was outside my room, but I didn't try flipping the switch). The ceiling fan wasn't operating either. That meant leaving the window open. The main window in the room was covered by wooden shutters with some thinner bars. No screen so it welcomed the mosquitoes and other bugs that may wander in. Unless you like it stuffy, you'll want your window open. As a deterrent , I placed the sheet from one of the twin beds as a kind of netting.

The wifi is available in the lobby and can reach to the common area and the hammocks near the pool. They also have two computer terminals for free use. They offer a free continental breakfast with your stay: coffee, orange juice, a croissant, and bread. In the evening, there was a tray of cheese and fruit and Coke and wine. The pool is small, it doesn't start out dirty as it was being cleaned in the morning, but if you went to the falls and wanted to hop in when you got back, you might think twice. I did at least soak my feet to soothe them.

It's not what I thought a hostel would be. Maybe the folks staying during my holiday were just very low key. being close to the bus terminal also put it close to a pharmacia and many restaurants.
