“Home from home - far from home (as long as you like caiprihinis and a warm welcome!)”

We arrived on the overnight bus (an hour early!) and rang John the owner as per instruction. He arrived within a short time and gave us a tour of the local area incl to the area to see Paraguay & Brazil. Great advice to get bus to Argentina side that afternoon and take one of his drivers to the Brazil side next day. Advised to visit bird park on brazil side by family also staying; as well as driver next day - do not miss, it is great! Each night Caiprihinis and nibbles at 7, really welcome and great relaxation with John and other guests. John is on hand with loads of advice about the place, restaurants, buses, falls, insect repellant and loads more. Beer and water are available in the fridge which is always accessible, the rule being, you replace what you take. The supermarket is v close to do this so no overpriced bar / minibar prices! Of course Roxy the dog is an ever present welcome face too. Overall, I would recommend this to all my friends.

My son and I stayed at this delightful B&B in the town of Puerto Iguazu in early September. The host, John, was exceedingly helpful when we booked, organising a taxi service, not only to/from the airport but also to/from the Brazilian side of the Falls so that we could be there the afternoon of our arrival. The Secret Garden is only a block away from the bus that takes you to the Park on the Argentinian side. We enjoyed our stay, particularly John's cocktails and snacks at 7pm prompt! The room was clean and spacious, wi-fi was most useful, John organised a laundry service for us and also recommended a superb restaurant on the first night. Definitely worth a visit.

We had a lovely stay at the Secret Garden B&B. The highlight was definitely evening drinks and homemade nibbles chatting to John and fellow travellers (and Roxy the dog). John was a wonderful host and told us all we needed to know about the area. Definitely the best place to stay if you're not a fan of big hotels. Rooms were generous and clean and the breakfast was delicious.

I relied on prior Trip Advisor reviews and reserved a night's stay at the Secret Garden for my husband & myself and our 18 year old daughter during our trip to Buenos Aires. As others have commented, John, the proprietor, was very helpful in making arrangements and recommendations in advance of our arrival. He sent a driver to pick us up at the airport, then joined us and gave us a brief tour of Iguazu.
As others have commented - the rooms are simple, spacious, but they have nice extra touches (lovely quality towels, for example).
But it was John's attention to detail and his willingness to make sure that we made the best use of our short time in Iguazu that made our stay so memorable.
After we "settled in" our room, he secured immediate transportation to the Falls, arranging for us to be picked up there when the Park closed by the same driver. We had an outstanding (and exhilarating) day at the Falls, returned to the Secret Garden, and enjoyed the drinks, appetizers (which ended up sufficing as dinner!), and the stimulating conversation of John and the other guests who joined us.
Breakfast the next morning was fantastic (the best lemon marmalade I have ever tasted) - it was a fun and relaxing stay - certainly a welcome change from the usual, much larger and more ordinary, hotel stay.
John made himself very available for questions and help - and was a fascinating conversationalist, as were some of his other guests. On our second day, he asked if we might be interested in visiting a boutique resort for the day with whom he had a special arrangement. He arranged for a driver to take us about 45 minutes away to a secluded, gorgeous small hotel, complete with a naturalist to guide us on a jungle walk, fabulous lunch -- a remarkably relaxing retreat.
We plan to return - thank you John!

When you find yourself a guest at this wonderful little B & B, you are not compromising on basic luxury or gratification of the soul. Without giving away all the secrets in store for you, let me say when my husband and I arrived, twitchy from travel, the owner, John Fernandes, immediately made us feel at home in this tropical oasis. The Secret Garden Iguazu is on a quiet well-maintained residential street just a few blocks from the main road leading into the small town of Pto. Iguazu. The home is on a secure and private fenced lot with gardens and mature trees lending a tropical aesthetic. From a side door, you access the rear of the house that has a lovely common area used for breakfast and gatherings. The three rooms for rent are located at the very back of the property and accessed from outside, separated from the main house by a lush landscaped garden providing spaciousness and privacy truly reminiscent of eco-cabins in Costa Rica. Our large private room with bath was new, quiet, clean and tastefully furnished. A/C and heat unit is brand new too. Our shower was powerful and the bed, bedding and towels were first class. This was all more than what we expected in this tiny town. The real bonus and reason we recommend this B & B is John. John, with his gentle and kindly manner, provided a relaxed and stimulating environment with interesting guests and conversation. John helped negotiate our transport, the lay of the town, places to visit, dining advice and the natural and political history of the region. In addition, John has four equally gentle and caring staff members who will anticipate your need. Priceless. Two weeks have passed and we cannot stop thinking about our 3-nights at Secret Garden Iguazu. It was the highlight of our 18-day stay in Argentina. We wish we were there now. Enjoy your relaxed stay and give Roxy a kiss for the IT Nerds from MN. We envy you already.

This is a delightful bed and breakfast well situated in Puerto Iguazu. The most appealing part of it is the host, John Fernandes, who goes out of his way to make you comfortable and to help you get the most out of your visit to the falls. One of our favorite parts of the stay was his evening cocktail hour with his specialty drink and home made appetizers. His staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are simple, but clean and comfortable (slept well in the bed) and the environment is a lovely landscaped tropical garden which can be enjoyed by guests on a nice day. The b& b is a block from the main road where one can hop on a local bus to the Falls with ease. John will also arrange for a driver at a very reasonable cost, if you prefer. One can also walk to restaurants and stores/amenities in the town. If you like bed and breakfasts with a distinct character, home made delights for breakfast and a gracious and interesting host, this is the place to be. We would definitely stay here again.

John is helpful and available, and even took us on a tour of town on arrival. Bar none the best breakfast in Argentina, with papaya and other fruit, unbelievable banana bread and fresh-squeezed orange juice, and assorted breads.

The room was spacious but otherwise quite simple. The bathroom was also adequate.

But you won't be spending much time in your room. At 7 John hosts cocktail hour(s) on the patio, replete with dangerously good caipirinhas and some munchies.

The place could be a bit closer to the center, but that's the tradeoff with a guesthouse, plus Puerto Iguazu is so small it's not a big deal. The B&B is pretty close to a bus stop.
