Owner description: The Arizona Museum of Natural History is the premier natural history museum in Arizona. It is dedicated to inspire wonder, respect, and understanding for the natural and cultural history of the Southwest. Explore Arizona and the Southwest from the creation of the earth 4.5 Billion years ago to the present. See the origins of life on earth, meteorites and minerals. In Dinosaur Hall, discover some of the biggest dinosaurs that ever lived, and on Dinosaur Mountain see how some appeared and sounded in a natural context. In a Walk through Time, explore ancient Arizona's Paleozoic Seas, Triassic Petrified Forest, monsters of the Cretaceous Seas, and the first animals to fly. "Rulers of the Prehistoric Skies", our newest exhibit, presents the amazing diversity of Pterosaurs, the flying reptiles of the Mesozoic. Neither dinosaurs nor birds, Pterosaurs ruled the skies from about 225 to 65 million years ago.

This is the perfect place to bring young children and teenagers to learn about natural history. My husband and I brought our baby and had a wonderful time. We both learned a lot. I loved the dinosaur and fossil displays. Everything in the museum very well organized and presented. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

This marvelous museum is entertaining and engaging for both kids and adults, but is aimed a little more at the younger generation. The staff are passionate about their work and dedicated to informing and educating kids in a friendly and lighthearted manner. The exhibits are well presented and impressive, with the dinosaur and fossil displays being particularly grand, and the museum regularly holds all sorts of enjoyable special events. I have worked with the museum, professionally, on numerous occasions and have always been highly impressed by how well their events are organized and by the helpful staff who are very generous with their time. This museum is a real gem and should be much better known that it is. I consider it the top attraction in Mesa and please note that it’s not just a showcase — the museum has working archaeology and paleontology departments with noted academics on staff. I always look forward to my visits here and if you are a parent in the Phoenix area (or visiting) with kids who are interested in visually stimulating science displays (especially paleontology), the Arizona Museum of Natural History is an absolute must. Very highly recommended.

I LOVE this museum. It's got so much packed in and displayed phenomenally, it's worth getting a pass for several visits! They specialized exhibits and events are great for all ages! They even have a sleepover event. MAKES for a PHENOMINAL party activity or creative slumber party--for boys? and girls! Definitely a hidden gem in the desert for parents planning a party and a diamond in the rough for summer activities!

I visit this museum with my daughter at least once a year. Great learning experience for children in terms of science. If you and your children are interested in paleontology, then this is the museum for you. It is free admission every first Sunday of the month. High marks.

We enjoyed this museum a lot. Lots of neat exhibits and things to keep the kids interested. They learned a ton of new and exciting things and want to go back again.
