Owner description: Similar in style to "Whose Line is it Anyway," the National Comedy Theatre is a high octane comedy show featuring the Valley's best improv comedians performing a series of games and scenes all based on audience suggestions. The audience picks the games, helps us call the fouls, and ultimately decides which team of comedians is the evening's winner. And it's ALL AGES!It's a fast, hysterical, unique and highly interactive show and the most spontaneous improv comedy experience in the Valley!

“The Laughter Just Kept Rolling & Rolling !”

On a whim we took friends to the NCT in Mesa. Although we had been to stand up comedy shows in the Phoenix area we'd never been to an improv performance. And..... we (and our guests) were absolutely blown away by all the improv performances ! The players were engaged, competitive and hilarious. The audience was participating in the skits and ultimately judging the player teams performances. Interaction between the shows host, improv players and audience created such an enjoyable synergy.

As previously mentioned we've been to a few other comedy clubs. This club is the first club were I felt very comfortable with the humor. I don't mind "adult" humor, but there's so much raunchy comedy in many clubs whereas the comedy at NCT was used to make you laugh, not cringe in shock or embarrassment.

The theater-style seating & lobby was comfortable and intimate. Beer was cold and very reasonable in price. Would we recommend ? Well, we are returning to the NCT next week to celebrate another couples anniversary. So yes, we'd highly recommend an evening of fun at the NCT !

“Great Entertainment”

Very enjoyable & affordable 1.5 hour show in a small theater. Great for all ages, from kids to seniors. Audience members do not get picked on or embarrassed at all.

“Improv Comedy”
Reviewed 11 December 2013

I have not seen a lot of Improv comedy shows so I don't have anything to compare the show with except many years ago in Calgary,Canada. The players had 2 teams for a sort of competition. Overall it was entertaining but perhaps not as funny as I had expected. That is likely due to the fact there is no writers just improv. Somethings work others not so much. Well worth the small admission price though.

“Great local talent!”
Reviewed 1 November 2013

We found the comedians to be quick-witted and entertaining. The show we saw was completely improvisational, based on audience suggestions. The seating is theater style (think middle school orchestra room) and not that impressive, but the entertainment is definitely worth it!

“Laugh 'till you cry”
Reviewed 12 June 2013

We've been twice now and will be sure to go back again. This is an improv comedy theater in the style of Who's Line is it Anyway? Two teams perform various improv games based off of audience suggestions. Each night the comics are different, the referee is different and the games are different. Something you can go back to again and again. They have a 'brown bag' rule which keeps the comedy family friendly. Anyone, comic or audience, who curses or makes any off color comments gets a brown paper bag stuck over their head for the remainder of the skit.
