“Very Pretty”

It's a nice place to walk around or take some pictures; the only thing I disagree with, is where MCC let everything dry and put a new garden where the other one was.

“A pleasant surprise awaits”

Even though I was in the area just for geo-caching, I took some time to smell the roses. So many different varieties i never even knew existed. It was an enjoyable and educational stroll.

“Best place to visit in Mesa!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 January 2014

We love visiting the Rose Garden....there's something for everyone to enjoy. We visit here every Easter and Mother's Day. HOWEVER...beware of spiders. Last time we were there my 7 year old was bit twice on the arm and required ER care to treat the bites.

“They Smell like Roses!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 December 2013

Beautiful place. So many lovely roses, and many have a scent!! Not your supermarket roses. The variety is amazing. And if you are lucky enough to have someone who either is a member of the Rose Society or who knows about the history, etc. you will be so surprised to learn about it. The Veteran's garden is a special place as are the roses in it. To walk the garden is completely up to you how long it takes. There are areas to just sit and enjoy it in peace and quiet.

“Amazing collection of 9000 roses”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 May 2013

We had a wonderful tour by a dedicated volunteer of this beautiful rose garden that lines the entrance of Mesa Community College along Southern Ave. She explained how the garden got started an grew with the help of volunteers and support of area rose growers. Who knew that roses could bloom so prolifically and for so long in the desert! They allow the public to cut blooms in December, and In January and February every Saturday morning they need lots of volunteers to cut the bushes back so they get ready to bloom for another full year. One of the garden areas is dedicated to the military and all the roses have theme-related names. With the help of our guide many in our group learned so much about the varioius kinds of roses and their care.
