Barro's claims to be of Italian extract (as opposed to New York or Chicago style pizza). It is definitely not thin crust, nor is it Chicago deep dish, but the thick, chewy crust is better than any Chicago pizza (believe me, I just ate both Gino's East and Giordano's -- no comparison). We've been ordering Barro's pizzas for over 20 years. Once in a while we'll try another place, and although it may be good, it ain't Barro's.
OK, the toppings can be a little skimpy once you get past the pepperoni and/or sausage. Never as much pineapple as I want. But double-cheese is gooey and yummy.
Best thing is that they will have my pizza ready for pickup in 15-20 minutes EVERY TIME. By the time you phone, put your shoes on and drive over there, it is ready to go.
