“Exceptional service and comfortable room!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 January 2012

We just finished a four night stay for the High Noon western show at the Mesa Convention Center including extra days for research for a book and to visit friends. Check in was fast, easy and courteous. We had called ahead requesting a refurbished room and extra towels and toilet paper (we request no housekeeping during extended stays) and everything was exactly as we had asked with the extra items delivered as we were unpacking. Large standard rooms with plenty of walk room, a mini fridge, flat panel TV, but no real place to comfortably sit for an in-room meal; a small game table, the upholstered chair and the desk chair worked though. {one quibble about a recent hospitality trend: why provide wide screen flat panel TVs and then not subscribe to an HD service? The picture is stretched out of proportion and doesn't fit the screen properly - makes for annoying viewing!} The rooms are remarkably quiet, few sounds of toilets flushing or neighbors' TVs, just standard hallway and door noise and not much of it even considering they had very high occupency for the weekend. Central air and heating in the room made for comfortable and quiet sleep. The beds are rediculously comfortable. My favorite amenity is the FREE wi-fi in the room! I connected fast with the iPad and had fast service all stay (though I had to sign in often on the weekend, I stayed signed in on the weekdays). The most annoying aspect was the shower - the showerhead sprayed at all angles and was like standing under a fire hose with no way to get away from it. Plus the shower curtain liner wouldn't stay on the open C hooks they use, and the grab bar was at the toilet side so it was difficult to exit the high tub. Room service was fast and efficient from Cafe Azul and the food was average, but good, hotel fare. Overall an excellent stay and the staff was overly friendly and helpful!

What a delightful review of our hotel! Thank you for mentioning our wonder beds, the requested items ready for your arrival and the FREE wireless service. We have shared your comments regarding the shower head, curtain and TV with our engineering/housekeeping department managers to find a solution. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Phoenix Marriott Mesa on your next visit to Arizona.

My usual pick for a full service Marriott at a reasonable price in the Phoenix area in high season. My rate this week was $127/night. The hotel is indeed dated, but it is clean and the staff provides above average service and is attentive. The maid service even leaves me thank you notes for their gratuity each morning. The restaurant on property is average and the neighborhood is not one that I would feel safe in walking during the evening hours. I was disappointed on this trip that the hotel had discontinued free breakfasts on the weekend to platinum elite members. I would recommend the Phoenix Marriott Mesa if you are traveling in the area.

Many of the rooms have been recently renovated - be sure to ask for one. The rooms were good size and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Request the Oncierge Level.

While this is an older hotel, it's very nice. They are doing some renovations, updates, etc. The grounds are very pretty and rooms are clean and the beds are sooooooooo comfy! We had breakfast at Cafe Azul on the grounds, and were pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. NOT your Denny's type food. We chose this particular Marriott because it's within walking distance from Mesa Arts Center. We will, without a doubt, stay here again.

WE spent 4 nights there over Thanksgiving, and were totally pleased. Beautiful room, very comfortable beds, clean, and every single employee there was pleasant, helpful, and courteous. We were in a newly renovated room and would ask for that again. From now on, when we visit our family in Mesa we will definitely stay here. No complaints except the breakfast in the cafe was mediocre, and for the rest of the stay we went elsewhere for meals.

We stayed here for four nights during a recent trip for a family wedding. The staff and room attendants were pleasant and helpful. The only reason for the four star review instead of the 5 star was the service at their restaurant. It was a busy Sunday morning but tables were not very clean and it took over 15 minutes for anyone to come over and offer a cup of coffee much less take our order. I would definitely stay here again but I don't think I would ever eat at that restaurant again.

I spent a week at this hotel November 4th /11th 2011 mixing business with pleasure. The staff is very friendly and helpful the only complaint was the front desk forgot to make the call for a cab to the airport this only gave me an excuse to make a trip to the airport. Location is good, fairly quiet for all of the guests coming and going. Pool area was kept clean. Conference rooms were kept clean and used plates and glasses were bussed during breaks. The hotel food during the conference was not outstanding but not bad for over three hundred people they did a great job.

Room Tip: The higher in floors the better
