From the outside, nothing shows the beauty of the interior of the Legado Mitico! You come in to the hall and immediately the decoration of excellent taste and quality appears. Each room has a name (El Capitano, El Gaucho, ...) and they are fabulous! Excellent large beds, very nice decoration, good quality materials, ... We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Legado Mitico, also thanks to the staff which was very friendly!

This was by far the best hotel on our three-week trip through Argentina. Our room was huge and very tastefully decorated with a great bathroom and a little patio. The whole hotel was lovely with a pretty terrace and a beautiful library. The location is very central. Breakfast was also good. All in all, a great experience and we would highly recommend this and definitely return!

What I Liked Most
Spacious and stylish rooms

What I Liked Least
No restaurant other than for breakfast

This is an unimposing hotel about 5 blocks from the main square of Salta. The rooms, at least the room we had - Calchaqui, are a good size, and have a homely feel. The public areas of the hotel are also an excellent blend of homeliness and a professionally-run hotel.

If you want a 5 star hotel with all the associated facilities, then maybe this isn't for you. But if you want a large, comfortable room close to the city's main square, and even closer to the best restaurants, then this may well work for you. Reception staff are very helpful. Breakfast is decent though not overly vast (I particularly liked the coffee if you ask for a fresh cup) and the wifi works well.

We stayed in this hotel for two nights in May. A wonderful old world feel to the place. Fantastic public rooms, and an excellent colonial bedroom (lighting could be better, but that is a minor quibble)

This is actually a " bed and breakfast" rather than a hotel. You cannot get either lunch or dinner here. There is a bar open from 18.00 to 21.00 but they cannot serve a Pisco Sour, only wine, beer or G & Ts

Breakfast was not bad, but not good either. My main problem was with the waiter. He removed our plates, cups and place mats, even though there were 10 minutes before the end of breakfast. He was brusque to the point of rudeness. Same bloke both mornings.

The receptionist on arrival was slightly less than welcoming. But the porter who guided me to the parking garage was charming.

This is not an easy hotel to find if you are driving yourself. Even once you find the right street, in the one way system in Salta, the signage for the hotel is minimal, so keep a sharp lookout.

The position of the hotel is not ideal, at five blocks from the main square, along roads that have little charm

But overall I would recommend this hotel, if you are happy with the negatives I have outlined. If I went to Salta again, I would probably look for an alternative, and end up staying here again!

Two years ago when we visited Salta with friends Legado Mitico regretfully was fully booked. This time we were able to experience the "quiet elegance and sumptuous colonial comfort" as described by another reviewer. We arrived quite late and just wanted to have a glass of good wine with a bite to eat which the staff was very happy to provide for us in spite of the late hour. Breakfast was plentiful with a good selection for every taste. We were two couples and both rooms were large, nicely furnished and with all the amenities of a 5* hotel. The staff was more than forthcoming in every instance. I highly recommend Legado Mitico.

Room Tip: El Caudillo room is on the first floor and looks towards a court, so it is very quiet. La Escritora...

Only spent one night here but would return anytime. It was like going back to another time, like staying in an elegant Spanish-style town house with a good location from which to visit the city. Small but not lacking in amenities.

Legado mitico's location is quiet, within walking distance to the old centre and the hotel itself, although small, is elegant, with friendly staff, beautiful furnishings and and an authentic colonial feel. Breakfast is plentiful, and the man who takes care of it is a sweetheart. My room was enormous, beautifully furnished and spotless. The bathroom was equally massive and well appointed.

Overall, Salta is a fascinating town, and visits to the countryside including Salinas Grandes were superb. The landscape, its colours and textures are breathtaking.

I had a fantastic and comfortable stay at Legado mitico and would definitely stay here again.
