Traveling on a fly fishing trip to the Rio Pico area, the four of us had five nights in Esquel before heading south, and we stayed at the Hotel Angelina. We were greeted by Carlos, who is the proud owner, as well as the day clerk, breakfast chef, laundry man, and performer of hundreds of other duties in his operation that are accomplished unnoticed and with excellence. The rooms were clean, neat and comfortable and the WI-FI was free, fast, 24/7. The buffet style breakfast, served from 7AM (way early Patagonia standard) was the best I have had in all of Patagonia.

We stayed here for a week January 2013 and were welcomed so warmly. We stayed in one of the apartments which was comfortable and clean.and homely. It was also nice and cool as the weather at the time was very warm. We really miss the wonderful breakfasts, the range of choices. they were deliciousand kept us going until the evening. The Angelina is very conveniently situated near the town centre and the main attractions. The owners and staff were extremely helpful and made our stay so special. We will certainly recommend this hosteria as a great place to stay

We stayed here for two nights in January 2013 and had an amazing stay. The owners are on call all the time - a father and son combo. The rooms are very comfortable and clean and the bed was very firm. the breakfast was fantastic - a huge spread od cheese, meats, cereals and more than the usual choice of fresh fruit. The cakes and pastries were a treat - all made by the father. We would highly recommend this hosteria as a great place to stay - a great location too!

Room Tip: All seemed quite good, with views over the small gardens.

We stayed at this lovely family run hosteria for 3 nights in late October, and were delighted with all aspects of our visit. The hosteria is within easy walking distance of the main attractions in Esquel town, with a handy corner shop and bakery right next door. Our host, Caco, was extremely helpful and attentive, as was his lovely father. Caco's excellent connections in the Esquel tourist scene helped to secure us a trip on 'La Trochita' (the Old Patagonian Express), and he seemed able to summon a taxi or hire car in moments - at a very reasonable rate. The rooms were extremely comfortable, large, well appointed and always really cosy. The Patagonian breakfast offered freshly squeezed orange juice, local hams, cheeses, honey and jams, along with cereals, yoghurts, selection of breads and pastries and an impressive range of freshly baked and totally delicious cakes and tarts - all with views of the mountains opposite. Ask Caco about doing a cabalgata (horse riding) with Hector at the Chacra Los Alamos - we did a 4 hour evening ride followed by an asado, which was truly magical. This hosteria is a gem!

I came to Esquel for a night and extended for three, in part because of the Hosteria Angelina. My room, at the single rate of about fifty-five dollars, was large, well-lit and very clean, with a comfortable queen sized bed. The breakfast was the best I had in Argentina, and far superior to that in more expensive hotels. The hotel has a friendly family atmosphere, with a kind and helpful staff. Esquel has a slightly down-at-the-heels charm which will grow on you, and which I found more fun than polished locales like Bariloche.

Room Tip: My side, near the front room was very pleasant. Esquel goes to sleep, it seems, around ten, so noise...

Unfortunately we only had one night on our trip which we could spend in this wonderful place - if we had known before, we would have spent quite a few more!! The rooms are charmingly designed and spacious and the bathroom has everything you would need!
Carlos aca Caco is the best host ever... not only does he prepare the best and furiously delicious breakfast in town but he will also have the best tipps on locations for you... if it be restaurants, cafés, scenic routes... or a great hotel which is somewhere further up or down on your travel route!!
Caco, thanks a lot for the stay - we'll be definitely coming back!!
All the best,
Celine & Markus
