Before booking this hotel we had been vacillating between several hotels in the Puerto Madryn area. As it turns out, I wound up extremely happy with the size and condition of the room, particularly the AMAZING view overlooking the water! The general state of the room was very clean and visually appealing (ie. soothing). The bathroom was spacious and had an awesome shower, towel warmer, etc. The linens and bathroom fixtures seemed very clean which is important to me.

Breakfast seemed to be your typical fare for Argentina, lots of pastries, cereals, yogurt, fruit salad. There were scrambled eggs but they were only lukewarm, (the only reason I might have detracted a point). I think they could have improved breakfast slightly by offering eggs to order as well as the other options, but ultimately the breakfast was consistent and offered a lot of choice.

I was very happy with the customer service I received prior to the trip, and even during our week stay, especially "Sofia" who was quick to respond to any emails. The hotel had great internet in terms of needing to send emails, Skype, search the internet, etc., very important for us as telecommuters.

Room Tip: The ocean view was truly something to behold! We emphasized needing good WiFi connection at check-in because of some previous reviews, did not have any problems.

Extremely pleasant, helpful staff in this centrally located hotel.
Tips: plug in soap basket; wide choice for buffet breakfast - 18 types of cake alone. But only bread/ toast, processed ham and cheese slices for those without sweet tooth; no air con before December - a little issue if you struggle in heat as I do!

Room Tip: Upgrade for more comfort, better decor, more space and superb sea view, but noisy all night if you leave window open

The hotel is across the street from the beach and is on the main tourist drag, making it very convenient as a base. The lobby is modern and comfortable, and doubles as an art gallery. The rooms, on the other hand, are small and plain compared to the hotel's entrance. The toilets are behind a door but the showers and sinks are not. Our room was on the sixth floor and had a great view of the ocean. Service was acceptable but unremarkable. The hotel is a good value.

Room Tip: Higher floors have better views.

We (4 adults) stayed for one night in the Piren.

How to get there:
We arrived by bus in Puerto Madryn from Cordoba. This takes 20h which are OK if you take for minimum the cama class in the bus.
The bus main station is not far away from the Piren. It is only 3 blocks down to the beach and another 3 blocks to the right. Easy to walk. You don't need a taxi.

Hotel:
Nice and modern lobby with a glassy elevator at the front. We had booked sea view. Take care that you are in the upper levels. We've been on the third floor and there is a big tree in front of the hotel which makes the whale watching not easy.

Room:
All in all clean with a big BUT. The woollen blanket was not changed and we found lots of hairs from the other guests on it. Not hygienic for us.

Breakfast:
Very OK. Nearly the best during our stay in Argentina.

Service:
Nothing to complain about, very friendly.

What to do:
Watch the whales! You'll the them everywhere at the beach and if you're lucky in a very close distance 50-100m).

We had a very good stay in this hotel. The position was perfect on the sea side and close to everything. Breakfast, room and position were ok. Staff was a bit cold and not very ready to provide information.
