“Great stay - Splendido soggiorno”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 December 2013

We spent 2 nights in this hotel, but we would have stayed for all the journey. Room comfortable and wide with a wonderful view on the ocean, king size double bed. Fantastic, as penisola Valdes is.
The only problem was the fact that the wi-fi connection was not working in the room, cause the distance from the hall.

We stayed 3 nights in this 'falwty towers' hotel.
The prices our to expensive for the things you get!
You just pay for the view! The view is amazing and you pay for that!

Staff:
Service sucks!! When we arrived, they did'nt showed us the room, they just gave us the key and we needed to cary our luggage to our rooms by ourselves!
They are very unprofessional and unfriendly!!

Rooms:
avarage hotel room, not special..
when we came in to the room, we almost passed out from the scent of air refresher!
There was a machine in the bathroom who sprayed every 30min. an awfull chemical parfum!
and the floor was also dirty!! sand everywhere! The beds are also not comfretable!
Only the view is amazing!! when you take the room on the second floor you can watch whales from your balcony (tip: take a good binocular with you!).
But in the morning the tractors (from the whale watching trip) wake you up very early!!

Spa:
hahahahahahaha, they call it a spa?!!!!!!
the jacuzzi was dirty! and there was NO water in the pool!
terrible!

Breakfast:
for 200euro/night you expact a wonderfull breakfast!!
No eggs!! just bread and a toasting machine, face croisants,
marmelade, dulce the leche and ham and cheese.
dry cake and cold coffee!
The coffee cups on the table were dirty, with coffee rests on in from the morning before!

The restaurant:
The first day we took lunch in the hotel restaurant... the table was dirty, the waiter was unprofessional and the food discusting and expensive!!! that night we desided to go to the restaurant next door 'Towanda' the food there is delicious the prices ok and the servise great!
(2 other great restaurants are: la estacion and la covacha!) the gamba's in la estacion and towanda are great!! la covacha has delicious hamburgers and meet sandwich!!

Conclusion:
YOU PAY FOR THE VIEW!!! (Witch is great!!)
It's to expencive for the service they offer!
Take another accomodation! you have lovely chalets in puerto piramides and the beach is from everybody! Believe me, the view from the hotelroom is not worth of the money you loose!

Room Tip: If you go, but Idon't reccomend it!!! take a room on the second floor with balcony!!

This is the largest accommodation in Puerto Piramides by far, and the only actual hotel. My wife and I stayed for two nights to facilitate extra whale-watching trips locally.

The views from the seaward facing rooms is unarguably fantastic, and whales can be spotted easily from one's bed at the right time of year. Rooms are comfortable and adequate, tho' soundproofing could be improved.

After settling in, we went to the hotel bar for a refreshment where what appeared to be the hotel manager was working. Clearly asking for a drink at a hotel bar is a ridiculous request, given the response we got, however this made us decide to eat elsewhere during our stay and we discovered some delightful local restaurants as a result.

The breakfast buffet is fine, as long as you are not put off by the manager following you around to check that you have not misplaced any item during your visit to the table.

A great location for a Peninsula Valdes visit which bases it's prices probably on its situation more than service, but worth considering for sheer convenience and views.

Room Tip: Don't miss a sea view room.

Perfect location on beach - that is what you pay the hefty price-tag for. Some rooms with ocean view (can spot Whales in the bay). Quiet, clean and decently sized rooms. Would be 5 star but for indifferent service at mealtimes and average quality food. Best hotel in town, but eat elsewhere (see my restaurant reviews).

Room Tip: Upper floor.

This is a great location for watching whales and the views from the rooms are excellent. However, it is greatly overpriced for the quality. The food in the restaurant Is mediocre, the breakfast is minimal at best, the cleaning of the rooms minimal. One night I had to call the front desk due to the noise in the halls, which persisted until 2 am and which the staff did nothing to mitigate. It's probably the best one can do in this location, which is a shame.

Room Tip: second floor facing water

The hotel is located right at the beach. This gave us the chance to spot some whales right from our room. But you have to be aware that the boats are launched from the beach so you hear the tractor from time to time pushing the boats into the water. We didn't feel disturbed by that. The room had a reasonable size and was clean. Water pressure is a bit of a problemif you take a shower. The other thing is that the rooms are quite cold if it is windy.

We (4 adults in 2 rooms) stayed for one night in Las Restingas hotel.

First of all we decided to take the Las Restingas because of the location and the comments in tripadvisor. Unfortunately for us just the location proved to be good and if you stay for only one night driving the whole day around the island and returning at night when it is dark the location itself is gone also.
Like in many places on the world there are special locations and very often the hotels with the best spots think this is enough for the guests and you have not to do much more. Sorry this is not true.

For us the stay was completely disappointing. Let me tell you why:

How to get there:
We rented a car in Puerto Madryn through WildSkies which I can recommend. Very serious and good cars. When you arrive in Puerto Piramides there is just one road. Take the first road on the right and drive down until you reach the beach. The hotel is on the left side. You can park the car behind the hotel.

Rooms:
They are indeed nice, clean and beautiful and at least the only positive thing to tell. We had two rooms on the first floor with sea view. Don't take the ones with village view. Water pressure was very low and it took a while till warm water came. Heating is a problem. During our stay the nights been very cold and if the small air condition unit had its problems fighting against the cold.
One very strange thing are the keys. If you open the door you had to plug a piece of plastic into a small slot and then you the lights go on. Similar to these magnetic cards you get in modern hotels. Problem is the key for the door is fixed to that card. If you want to leave the room after locking the door and its dark outside, your partner is having a shower for example he or she has to do it in the dark then until you opened the door if you find the lock in complete darkness :-)

Service:
When you arrive you have to read a piece of paper where all the rules and important things are written down. One of them is that you have to ask the staff before bringing someone from outside to your room. OK for us. We had a friend with us who slept in another hotel. She came in the morning to discuss the plans for the day. We asked if she could come to the room because the lobby (also the area for breakfast) was extremely cold. It was denied in a very unfriendly and impolite way. She was even cursed by the guy who prepared the breakfast. Unbelievable. The staff has no manners at all.

Hotel:
There is a gym, a pool (without any water) and a sauna. You could use it free for one hour per room. So discuss this with your travel partner who wants to use what and when. Perhaps a quick workout gives you mor time for the dry pool ;-)

Breakfast:
For a price like they take in the Las Restingas (213 US Dollar per night) it was more than poor. They do not refill empty plates or even the coffee unless you ask for and cleaning the tables is obviously not necessary. Do it yourself if you need a place to eat. The breakfast room was extremely cold during our stay. Breakfast is offered from 8.30 till 10 o'clock. If you want to start early to see some p,ace you have to get your stuff some other place. Till 8.30 there is even no one at the reception.

After all we won't come back and won't suggest to stay there. There are other places and the beach is free for everyone.
In a place like this it probably doesn't matter because there are always people coming and you don't need quality to fill the rooms. On the other hand perhaps sometimes another hotel opens and then we will see.
