“Nature and wildlife”
Reviewed 30 December 2013

We stayed here for one night. The location is at the far end of the peninsula (gravel roads, we rented a small car, all went very smoothly but driving is around 50 km/hr). It is a beautiful place, very far away from everything else. No cellphone reception, no electricity during the day in the hotel (they work with a power generator from 6pm to 9am). Wifi only works during those hours but is so slow that its not really an added value. But if you come here, you don't need this, just peace and calm. Rooms are very basic but clean. The price you pay is high, but it all for the location and included trips. Dinner in the evening was ok, breakfast was better. They also have a cool dog :-)

The staff is friendly and they take you around the grounds to visit sea elephants; sea lions etc., the nature and wildlife is really magnificent! Just below the light house, you can take the stairs all the way to the beach were there is a huge sea elephant colony. You get within a few meters of these animals, truly amazing!! If you like to get the end of the world feeling and enjoy nature; I would definitely recommend this hotel!

The location is superb and the staff is welcoming and helpful. Rooms are pretty basic, though, a little hostel-like. No electricity during the days and no cell phone reception (which might be a good thing). So do not expect any luxury on that front. Food in the restaurant is good.

There were a lot of arranged activities included in the price: Excursions, tango lessons, horse riding with a real gaucho...

The elephant seal colony can be visited on a day trip as well. Have lunch here and be guided to the seals afterwards.

Arrived rather tired at lucn time to be met by Ignacio who showed us around and told us the whys and wherefores of the area. Went and sat on a bench overlooking a raised beach full of Elephant Seals. Room was small but I think most people only spend 1 night here, it was very clean and cosy. Good dinner and they have a nice sitting room 9or playroom0 as Ignacio called it. Good breakfast next morning and my partner was taken on a wildlife walk. I stayed around the hotel and met the most enormous cat who came and spent the rest of the morning on my lasp There was also a dog with puppies. Good choice at lucn time and we really enjoyed ourselves the staff were great.

Room Tip: All the rooms are basically the same

We stayed here for one night, and had an amazing time. There is a walkway to the elephant seals colony just below the cliff which lets you get to within 10 meters of the wildlife, which is much closer then you will, het anywhere else on the island. The staff is very nice and helpful, and the complementary excursions (such as guided walks and horse-riding with the gaucho Raul) are great. The restaurant is excellent, which is good as there is no other place around to eat. The rooms are small, but the common areas are super, with a fireplace and drinks and snacks all day. Would definitely recommend this place.

Ohh, what a wonderful place!!! Of course, the peninsula is astonishing and beautiful on it's own. But, this hotel merit's a great review on it's own. The people who work here are all absolutely lovely. Maxi was our guide and his intelligence, generosity and ease made us feel great. He translated to english and spanish - and made our kids feel welcome. The hotel maid was wonderful - she helped organize our stuff. The beds were outrageously comfortable, the grounds absolutely beautiful - i LOVED this hotel! The showers are saltwater and the electricity is off during some hours during the day - but this feels right being out on the edge of the most wild-life-rich peninsula i've ever been to.

Went here some years ago, so not sure whether the service has kept up, but the location is spectacular, on the Patagonian steppe' at the end of the road in the peninsula, by an elephant seal colony which you can go down to the beach and look closely at. Offering great excursions without the need to go back and forwards from Piramides or Madryn, horse riding, etc. loved it!
