“Great building, great food”
Reviewed 23 January 2014

We ate here on our 2nd night in San Martin. The previous day we had a pizza at a resto on the lake and it was so huge we didn't eat an evening meal - just had icecream! Our B&B (Casa de Eugenia - yet to write review but it's coming!), recommended Dona Quela and they were right!
Lovely interior with friendly, knowledgeable staff and great food. We shared a starter - one of the other diners mentioned this would do two people (!) - can't recall it's name but it was pickles and meat - rabbit and deer, garlic, onions, peppercorns and carrots - delicious! Our mains were good as well - steak and chicken with squash. The desserts we had were tiramisu and a chocolate volcano - good to look at and wonderful to eat - highly recommend this place.

“Friendly staff but overcooked fish”
Reviewed 22 January 2014

The service was friendly and efficient. However, our grilled trout was very overcooked although the flavor was good. Maybe the chef just had a bad night.

This was by far our favorite place in San Martin. Charming ambiance, well-prepared food and really excellent service made this a stand-out.

“Excellent!”
Reviewed 1 December 2013 via mobile

We went to Dona Quela in November 2013.
The food was excellent, staff was really friendly and quick. We also liked the atmosphere with live music.
One of the thing that completely surprised us was at the moment we wanted to pay the bill we realised there was a mistake, when we told the waiter he corrected the error and gave an extra 10% discount and Limoncello!
Highly recommend the place!
