“Location is fantastic but lacks for warmth and service”

I booked this hotel based on the outstanding reviews. It is true, the location is an A+ and the rooms are spacious and beautiful if you like Italian-style decor, however, there was something almost sterile and cold about our experience. Perhaps it was a slow weekend (fri in late feb) but we didn't find the service people very warm or welcoming which is a shame for the price tag compared to other hotels we stayed in in Argentina.

See title. The young people who work at the hotel are all lovely and the setting is absolutely beautiful. The public spaces are commodious and extremely attractive. Despite the positives, this is not a 5 star property. The bathroom needs a much better magnifying mirror, better lighting, Kleenex, more towels, additional/better towel racks and a bathtub this isn't peeling. It is impossible to turn the shower on without getting soaked. The laundry service is fast, but the service is poor ( a cashmere sweater was returned in an unwearable condition) and there is no way to iron things yourself. There is no shoe service nor a way to clean your muddy shoes yourself except with a bathroom towel or toilet paper. Marcos was very helpful, but most of the time the only person around spoke no English and my Spanish is poor. There is no menu for any food in the room and my husband wanted butter at breakfast each morning but no one understood his request. We loved being at this property; it has so much going for it, but it needs a serious upgrade to its services .

If you want to feel like you are in an Italian Villa on a Norwegian Fjord in Argentina ...this is your place. The family that built this boutique hotel did an outstanding job....architecture, decor, amenities, food, comfortable bed, paint colors, music .....it has it all. A must stay location and experience.

We were a bit doubtful that any place could live up to stellar reviews we read. This was our second trip to northern Patagonia and while the town of Villa La Angostura itself is a little less than wonderful, Luma Casa more than makes up for that--truly a destination in and of itself. Add to that the beautiful places to visit around the lake and the surrounding mountains as well as the gentle graciousness of our hosts and it's about as close to perfection as a person can handle!

I love Luma Casa di Montana. It is a quaint little boutique hotel. Felt like being at home. The views were amazing and the quiet serene. My room was very spacious, comfortable and with the most amazing view. The staff were all friendly and quite charming. I would definitely stay there again if in this part of the world ... and may actually take a trip back just to stay there again. Not sure I could take my elderly parents there as it is a steep road up and down from the hotel. There is a small truck to take you up and down, but not sure it would work for elderly people. Love this place.

Room Tip: It was not easy to find on the Av. siete lagos. Look out for The Faros on your left when you are co...

I felt like I was in a movie. This is not so much a full hotel but almost like a mix of a bed and breakfast and a hotel. The property is absolutely beautiful. The views from the rooms, the back deck, the pool are stunning. We would plan our nights around the sunset so we could have a glass of wine on our balcony and watch the sunsets from our balcony. The staff is super helpful and very friendly. They really make you feel like you are part of the family. This is one of the few places I have been where I really did not want to leave. Special thanks to Marcos for all his help and for making sure we were always comfortable.

If you are anywhere near Bariloche or Villa la Angostura - stay here! You won't regret it!

Room Tip: If you want something, just ask. They don't really have proper lunch menus or anything like that...

Beautiful Italian inspired villa with wonderful views, decoration & excellent accommodation. Villa La Angostura is a much better location than Bariloche - quieter. We enjoyed our stay and Marcos is a wonderful & friendly host.
A couple of suggestions:
1. You need to make people feel welcome when they arrive - the 3pm check in seems important to you than your guests.
2. The quality of the food presented in the restaurant is average for the price. We had excellent food experiences across Argentina to compare & feel very qualified to comment. Your chef has no idea on how to bake pane cotta - it was like rubber. We ate in the restaurant on both nights and the quality was better on the second night.
