Green House Hostel Bariloche
Reviewed 30 March 2014

We stayed at greenhouse hostel for 4 nights and were so glad we did! Don't be put off by the fact that it is 4km from the centre of Bariloche - there isn't a great deal to do in the centre and the hostel is nearer a lot of the area's main attractions - the mountains, lakes and circuito chico. The hostel itself is clean and cosy, with a great large kitchen for cooking meals and comfortable common room area and garden. We stayed in the double room with shared bathroom which was ideal but if the top floor private room is available book that if you can! The best thing about the place is the general ambience - not a party hostel but a nice place to chill in the evenings with friendly travellers - as well as Chino the fab host - he was so friendly and helpful, gave us advise about the area and dropped us off with our bikes to start the circuito chico from the best place (18km). Don't stay anywhere else in Bariloche!

We had a wonderful stay at Greenhouse Hostel Bariloche. The owner, Brian, is very friendly and accessible. They picked us up at the airport and gave us a ride back there at a very reasonable rate. The kitchen and dining area are by far the largest we saw anywhere in South America. You have full access to the large kitchen. The rooms and beds are comfortable, the bathrooms very nice and spacious. We would definitely stay there again. It is a bus ride from town, but is on the main line.

If you're looking for a very welcoming hostel with a cool vibe, nearby access to the lake, delicious breakfast and the most charming owners - that's the one.
My husband and I stayed at this hostel for a week last december and had a really great time. The rooms are clean and very nice, especially the ones in the attic. Really good music is always playing at the common room and there's also a yard in which you can relax in the sun or play with franky - the owners cute dog.
Brian and Cande were amazingly helpful with e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g and they truly make you feel like home. (Muchas Gracias si leen esta. estaba un placer conocer te:):):) )
We honestly didn't want to leave and hope to come back one day..:)

Hands down the BEST place to stay in Bariloche! Brian and Chino were always going out of their way to make us feel at home and help answer any questions we had. The hostel environment was very laid back, comfortable and clean. From the minute we arrived we didn't want to leave. Bariloche alone is an amazing place to stay but this hostel truly made our experience unforgettable :-)

Room Tip: All of the rooms looked great

We loved the Greenhouse Hostel and highly recommend it. We were in the top floor double room w/ private bath, but the entire place looked very comfortable and clean. Brian and Cande were incredibly nice and helpful throughout our stay. They went out of their way more than once to help us out, and they gave us great advice about where to go and what to do in Bariloche. We loved the hostel's dog and cat, and the common areas were relaxed and enjoyable.

Amazing place to rest and relax. Very clean and comfortable. Very spacious common area, with big windows that let the morning sun illuminate the room. Great decoration, and the best thing about this place is the friendly atmosphere.

After a 30 hour bus ride Brian welcomed us and took us into the top room, which was a stunning bright bedroom with lots of space, including a sofa and table, our own kitchen area and shower facilities.

Brian is a top class proprietor and with good music taste to boot. He gave us some great advice about sights to see, specifically suitable to our stay. There is a relaxed atmosphere and I'd say it's at the top end of hostels and very well laid out. It's situated 4.7kms from Bariloche centre, which is nearer to where a lot of the activities are such as the National Park, walking trails and cable car ride, which gives a superb panoramic view.

This was perfect for us as it was what we went there for. If you come out of the hostel onto the main road and cross it so that you are lake side there is a short path that leads to the lake with it's crystal clear waters. Having this on the hostels door step is a great bonus.

If you need to go to town it's only a short 15 minute bus ride in. Brian lent us a bus pass so we topped it up with credit for the trips we did take into town.

We stayed 2 nights but didn't really want to leave. It's clean, our room had great views, not to mention the perfect advice given by Brian. He has a sense of calmness and assurance which is much needed in the ever hectic lifestyles that we lead.

I almost forgot to mention the room charge rates were fantastic and well worth it.

We visited the whole of Argentina and this place was one of our favourite spots, thanks Brian.
