“Only for a change from beef”
Reviewed 18 December 2012

This unassuming and difficult to find chinese restaurant is a bit different. In that the food here is not like the chinese we have had in Asia, USA or Europe. Having said that, we went here as we wanted a break from steaks.
The food and service are a bit 'hit and miss'.

“Yaaammy!”
Reviewed 8 November 2011

First, if you are used to Western Chinese food, abandon those ideas and tastes. Next, remember you are in Bariloche and that spices are pretty nonexistent.

If you have gone to Chinese restaurants in Latin American, you're probably used that they are nothing to Western food, all unique and a bit more authentic. Huang Ji's food is very fresh tasting. I'm not sure how their shrimp dishes taste so fresh even! Very delicious. I always eat the rolls (arolladitos since they do look run over), dumplings (steamed, the fried ones are like empanadas. Even though I like the filling, I'm not a fan of the crust).

The chow mien, if you are used to Western type, is more like lo mein. However, it's soft and more like the authentic Chinese ones. The fried rice is excellent. The kung pao has no peanuts, although the spice is similar but not as spicy. The almond chicken is like the kung pao with no spice but with the nuts. I prefer this one for the nuts. The hot-sour soup is more like egg drop soup (yummy, but no spice feeling).

All yummy, even the jasmine tea. There are ample tables to sit. I'm not sure about their smoking policy though. The only thing I don't really like are the soy sauce bottles. The orange one for rolls is good, and if you mix it with the soy sauce even better. I don't think they give a special sauce for the dumplings, unfortunately. The waiter is quite calm and speedy with food delivery, but not for the bill that much. Excellent food! Remember only cash, and for lunch they close at 3pm. Dinner is pretty much normal Argentinian hours. I ate at 11pm and finished at midnight.

“China comes to Bariloche”
Reviewed 20 October 2010

Dumplings, dumplings, dumplings, dumplings. If you rate a Chinese restaurant on the basis of its dumplings, which I do, this reataurant is a thumbs up. I unfortunately did not try much else but from the look of what the solo waitress was quietly wrapping up it looked pretty good.
