Excellent experience! The company was very well organized, and very thorough in their instructions. The Manzo River area was beautiful, and the rafting was a blast.
Thank you for your time!! We hope see you again. Best regards. Antoine
We booked the trip directly with Aguas Blancas at their office in town. At 1600 pesos cash price pp it was good value. We were only offered the III/IV trip, in late summer the river is down enough that the I/II trip is not worthwhile. We are novices and it was a great experience. We were the only english speakers on the trip but our boat guide spoke excellent english and gave us clear instructions. Our day group of ten split into two boats. Six of the Argentines quickly went to one of the boats, leaving us two gringos with a couple where the husband was enormous. Maybe 120 or even 140 kg. One of the things you need to do at times during the ride is for everyone to get down into the inside of the boat. My wife, who didn't want to sit in the front of the boat, ended up opposite the big bloke. That left her with a dilemma about whether to get inside quickly and take the chance of being squashed when her opposite jumped down, or hang around on the edge of the boat until he was settled in. The big bloke solved that problem on the first large rapid by dithering and then falling into the river. The guide fished him out and things worked out alright from there. Anyway, my tip is to try to avoid sitting opposite anyone who is XXXL.
Hi Calgert!! ja..ja... Thanks for your time, and for explain your expierience. See you soon beside a small size ja..ja....Best regards. Antoine
I was the only English speaking person that day, so everything was in spanish, but the guides explained slowly(they do know english though, it was just easier this way) and we had easy conversation with the other participants. Everything was perfect just too short ;)
I had good asado for lunch, there was other options or you can take tour own lunch
Hi Julie, We are hapy to know that you enjoy your trip. Thanks to take a minute for your opinion. It´s very important for us. Best regards. Antoine
My family (5 adults) had a great day. We were lucky that it was fabulous day. Our guide, Juan, was not only fun, but thoughtful and knowledgeable. The river was beautiful. The water was crystal clear. We saw trout jumping in the water. We had periods of rougher water and stretches of calm where we jumped in for a swim. The day also included a great lunch with appetizers, make your own sandwiches, and fresh fruit for dessert. We finished the day with warm tea, coffee, and cake. The tag along photographer captured some great shots -- especially of the men folk in the front of the raft. I would do it again in a flash!
Hi Sharon!! Thank you for taking the time to post!! We are glad you liked the excursion. We appreciate your opinion. We hope you come back next year. Best regards. Antoine
It was my first time white water rafting so of course I opted for the Class III/IV rapids. I was terrified. I need not have been so scared though. The guides were fantastic! We had a guide in the raft plus a guide in a safety canoe plus a professional photographer who caught every moment from the land. We were here in November and the rapids were pretty daunting at points but we really got into it and the adrenaline was something else going into the rapids. The scenery was incredible. People did fall out of the boats so be wary of that, but we were all wearing helmets and nobody was in any danger at any time.
General Tips:
(1) I would definitely recommend taking the class III/IV rapid tour as opposed to the II/III rapids as they aren't dangerous and definitely there's more adrenaline, even for a first timer. They're not that bad.
(2) No need to bring your passport - you don't cross any borders
(3) The company provide all the gear - wetsuit, wet shoes, helmets, jackets etc.
(4) After rafting there is an option to have lunch. We brought bread rolls, cheese and ham and sat out by the river and had this instead. The lunch didn't look too good and was very expensive by Argentinian standards - it isn't mandatory and the crew didn't care that we weren't having it.
Hi Jill!! Thank you so much for your opinion!! We help to be better. Best regards, Antoine
My boyfriend booked this rafting trip as my birthday present. We're in Argentina for a fun vacation, and this rafting trip will be one of the best memories of the entire trip.
We were picked up from our hotel and driving about 2 hours to El Boson were we had a breakfast of bread, jam and coffee. So I definitely recommend eating a good breakfast before being picked up. After that we got outfitted for the rafting trip and drove another 20-30 minutes to the river.
Because it was March the water level was pretty low and the rapids were small. Definitely not boat-flipping rapids. Our guide let us swim through one of the rapids which was a lot of fun.
At the end there's a pretty steep climb (doable climb) to the top of the hill and across the border into Chile.
We were told that lunch would cost 100 pesos each, but it actually cost between 110-250 pesos per person. The food was okay, and you have the option of bringing your own food.
You can purchase videos and pictures of the trip for 350 pesos. You can pay at lunch or they'll pick up the money from your hotel at the end of the day.
Hi ccampbeb, sorry for my late answer!! Thank you very much for your opinion, I see that was very good birthday present!! We hope see you soon!! Best regards. Antoine
